The Weekly Spark

Dear Families,

We are excited for our upcoming Scholar-Led Conferences! This is a special opportunity for scholars to take the lead in sharing their learning with you. During the conference, scholars will talk about their learning goals, share examples of their work, reflect on their progress, and discuss areas where they are continuing to grow. These conferences help scholars build confidence, take ownership of their learning, and celebrate the hard work they have put into the school year.

Please note that scholars will have early release on Wednesday, March 11, and no school on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13. Scholars are encouraged to attend their conference with their parents so they can actively lead the conversation and highlight their learning journey.

During your visit, we also encourage parents to complete the Georgia School Climate Survey. Your feedback is very important and helps determine part of our school’s CCRPI (College and Career Ready Performance Index) score, which measures school success and climate across the state.

Also, please mark your calendars for Spring Picture Day on March 19.

We look forward to a great week of celebrating our scholars and their learning!

Warmly,

Principal Lumpkin

It was Math Time in Ms. Holt's 4th grade classroom!

Scholars were working hard and looking at the various ways to represent fractions and decimals. It is so helpful to look at the different ways to visualize the numbers to get an accurate understanding!

It was Math Time in Ms. Lamb's 5th grade classroom!

After finishing up with the lesson introduction, we went out into the hallway where we made use of a number line on the ground and determined where each fraction would need to go. Scholars were handed a fraction card, and they worked together to place themselves correctly on the number line.
