Dear Preschool Families,
We look forward to celebrating St. Patrick's Day with your children this month. Our St. Patrick's Day celebration will be on Tuesday, March 17. We also ordered our caterpillar cups that should be in the classrooms next week. The children love watching them grow from tiny caterpillars to beautiful butterflies. They should be ready for release the week before Spring Break.
On a personal note, I will be out of the office next week traveling with my family on a ski trip to Lake Louise and Banff Sunshine in Canada. Six of us ski and one snowboards, but amazingly, we have never been on a family ski vacation together so we are really excited. We are going during our youngest daughter's Spring Break from the University of South Carolina. Ms. Brandi will be in the Preschool Office on Monday and Ms. Carolyn will be in the Preschool Office Tuesday - Thursday. Our next Color Day and Spirit Day is Tuesday, March 17 and it will be GREEN DAY along with our St. Patrick's Day celebration! For many years, a leprechaun has visited Unity Preschool causing mischief in our classrooms, but also leaving some treats. We look forward to following clues to see if we can catch him this year.
Our Next Spirit Day is April 17. We will celebrate Earth Day in our classrooms with some special activities to help us remember how important it is for us to take care of all of God's beautiful and wonderful creations.

*Spring Pictures
Katy Rue of Katy Rue Photography (we used her last year) will be doing our pictures on Tuesday, April 21. We plan to do all classes on Tuesday with a weather back-up day on Thursday, April 23. We will take individual pictures, sibling pictures (Unity students), and class pictures. The pictures are taken outside in our beautiful courtyard.

Two's Class - Tuesday, May 5
Three's classes - Wednesday, May 6
Four's classes - Thursday, May 7
We will enjoy a picnic in the park with families at 11:15. If it is a rainy day we will have the picnics in the Fellowship Hall. Plan to bring a blanket and lunch and enjoy a picnic with your child and classmates.

Ms. Linda's family moved from Michigan to Fort Mill, South Carolina in 2002 following her husband's job relocation. Linda and James are the proud parents of four children: Taylor (married to Kyler), Ryan, Nicholas, and Jessica. Ms. Linda has an undergraduate degree from Michigan Technological University in Biology with a secondary education certification in biology, math and general sciences and a law degree from the University of Michigan. She practiced labor and employment law for 8 years in Michigan before "retiring" to stay home with her growing family after moving to SC. Her family joined Unity in 2003 and continue to be active in many church ministries. Linda joined Unity's Staff in 2006 as a Nursery Coordinator and the Preschool Staff in 2008 as an Assistant Director.
Favorite Foods: Ms. Linda enjoys pizza and Bruster's peanut butter puddles or Hersey's Superman ice cream.
Favorite Music: Ms. Linda loves 80s music (alternative and rock) and a is frequent concert-goer to listen to her son Ryan's three bands.
Favorite Authors: Jodi Picoult, Jennifer Weiner, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Fredrik Backman, and John Grisham
Favorite Activities: Ms. Linda loves reading, skiing, swimming, and hanging out with her family.
We are so blessed to have Ms. Carolyn at Unity Preschool. Ms. Carolyn has been helping Unity Preschool for the past 16 years! She is our Tuesday/Thursday helper, Librarian, first call sub, and an extra pair of hands whenever we need them. Ms. Carolyn is a Fort Mill native and an avid Clemson fan. She also works in the FLYERS after-school program at Riverview Elementary and as our Nursery Caregiver at Unity.
Favorite Foods: Ms. Carolyn enjoys ice cream (especially butter pecan at Baskin Robbins) and hamburgers.
Favorite Music: Ms. Carolyn loves "oldies" music from the 60s, 70s and 80s
Favorite Book: David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
Favorite Activities: Ms. Carolyn loves the mountains, cruising, and gardening
Coach Shannon Myatt has been Unity's Playball coach for the past five years. Playball is a sport and movement program for children of all athletic abilities. It provides a broad introduction to physical activity as well as developing and refining skills used in a variety of sports. Coach Shannon brings new and exciting lesson plans to our children each week on Wednesday. She and her husband, Chris, have three busy boys in middle and high school. Coach Shannon is originally from Chicago and her family moved to Fort Mill 6.5 years ago.
Favorite Foods: Pizza - preferably Chicago Deep Dish

Favorite Movie: Goodfellas
Favorite Activities: Running, hiking, working out, and spending time with her busy family.
We are looking for gently used Little Tikes vehicles for our "parking lot." The children have so much fun with these cars and some of ours are showing some wear. If you have outgrown yours or see them for sale on neighborhood postings, please let Ms. Linda know. We would also love some small hot wheels or mattel cars and/or trucks for our park area.
Unity Presbyterian Church is thrilled to host Vacation Bible School this summer. VBS will be held Monday, June 15th—Thursday, June 18th from 9:00 a.m. – noon each day. This year’s theme is Snowball Mountain Challenge: Find Your Strength in God. Based on the theme verse, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", children will come to realize that with the strength God provides, they can share their gifts, be brave, give their all, pray, and hope.
Children who will be 4 by August 31st, 2026 through Rising 4th grade are invited to join us on this exciting winter sports event where they become Challengers, gearing up for frosty games, snowy surprises, and hands-on lessons about resilience and faith. Rising 5th and 6th grades are invited to Mission Camp at VBS, a fun-filled week of exploring the VBS Bible stories and seeing how those stories send us out to serve each day in our Fort Mill Community, which will run concurrently with VBS.
Registration is now open for Unity families, grandchildren of Unity members, and Unity Preschool families. Our Pre-K spaces fill quickly so register soon or you will end up on a waitlist. Registration opens to other community members on March 12th and will close on April 1st or when filled, if before then. *Tuition Withdrawal: Our next tuition withdrawal date will be Thursday, April 2. This will be the last tuition withdrawal for those of you who made an August payment. I will send you an e-mail in April if you are on our shortlist of families who can expect a May tuition withdrawal.
*Names on Clothes: Please include the name of your child on jackets. It helps our subs because they do not know everyone.
*Bug Spray/Sunscreen: As it warms up, please apply sunscreen and/or bug spray in the morning before you drop off your child.
*Folder Reminder: Please remember to empty your child's folder at least every week!
