NHUF Choral Concert - December 18th
When: Thursday, December 18th
Where: Middle School West
Time: 7:00pm
Hello Chorus Families,
It’s almost concert time. Here are a few details for you.
Please make sure Thursday, December 18th is on your calendar as concert night! The concert will start at 7:00pm.
Students should arrive at 6:40 and report to either the stage (4th) or band room (5th).
Please have your child wear their RED chorus shirt with BLACK bottoms (pants or skirt).
The concert will last approximately 1 hour for your planning purposes.
There are plenty of seats in the auditorium. There is NO NEED to arrive before 6:40. We will not open the doors until that time.
Please park in the back parking lot and enter through those doors. There will be a faculty member there to let you in.
The students and I look forward to performing for you and ringing in the holiday season together.
Mrs. Gallagher
Reminder - Daily Parent Pick Up
The cut off for signing your child up for the end-of-the-day parent pick up form is 2:30 PM. If you forget and sign up after the cut off time, please call the office. Failure to do so could result in your child going home on the bus.
Also, only Parents and Guardians are to complete the parent pick up form. Other family members should not be completing the form. Thank you for your cooperation.
StopFinder Rollout: Thursday, December 4th
Quigley Bus Services’ new bus tracking app, Stopfinder, will be released to our district families on Thursday, December 4th.
The app replaces Here Comes the Bus and integrates with the transportation’s bus routing system and new GPS equipment to provide up-to-the-minute information to families. Quigleys has completed training and multiple pilots with the application to provide a smooth transition for our users – including a building-wide pilot with Washington Elementary. The pilots included user feedback, system updates, and collaboration with the vendor and district personnel in preparation for the 4th.
The invitations will be addressed from Stopfinder no-reply@stopfinder.com and arrive throughout the day on December 4th. It is important to note that your email service provider may forward messages from unrecognized email addresses to your junk/spam/trash folders. Based on the internal and external pilot programs, we do know that this has happened to some of our participants. We kindly ask that you please always check these folders for Stopfinder information before reaching out to Quigley for additional support.
Invitations will ONLY be sent to Priority 1 and Priority 2 contacts within Infinite Campus. Those contacts can then share the service with others. HOWEVER, neither the district nor Quigley will be able to invite other student contacts to the program for safety and security reasons. The invitations will include specific instructions on signing up for the service and sharing with others.
Quigley will ask you to follow this protocol when asking for help with the application registration process:
If you are a Priority 1 or 2 student-contact in IC AND, you have checked those email folder locations, AND it is later than 9 AM on Friday,December 5th, AND you have not received your invitation to sign up for the app, please notify Quigley Bus Service via email to transportation@boyertownasd.org. Please remember, all district families will receive their invitations to this service on the same day. We ask that you allow up to 3-5 business days for a response.
There is NOTHING for you to do NOW, and Quigley cannot add users to the system before the 4th. You will receive additional reminders from BASD regarding this rollout in the coming days, all leading up to your invitation on the 4th. Please stay tuned!
It's Cold Outside.....
Students will be going outside for recess unless the wind chill factor is 18° Fahrenheit or below, or it is precipitating. It is most important that all students dress warmly so that they will be comfortable when they are outdoors. This includes having students bring coats, mittens and hats.

NHUF Yearbook News
We’re excited to share some updates about this year’s NHUF Yearbook!
We’ll be working with a new company, Treering, which offers every student the option to include two personalized pages in their own yearbook. These pages can be customized with your favorite memories and photos. (Please note: customized covers will no longer be available.)
· 📘 Yearbook Cover Contest Flyer: Our 5th-grade students are invited to submit artwork for the yearbook cover! One design will be featured on the front and one on the back, and all submissions will be included inside the yearbook. Entries are due by December 12, 2025. Entries can be turned into the office.
· 🛒 Ordering Flyer: Details on how to order your yearbook through Treering.
We’re also collecting photos for this year’s book! We’d love your pictures from the first day of school and Fall Fest.
You can upload them using the links included below in this email.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,

Lost and Found
Our lost and found has accumulated many items. If your child has lost an item, please have them check the lost and found rack outside the all-purpose room. Small trinkets, glasses, etc. can be found in the office.
Parents please check our lost and found during conferences! Thank you.
Attendance Reporting
As a reminder, parents/guardians are required to provide written notification to the school for each day their child is not in attendance. Absences shall be treated as unlawful until the district receives a written excuse explaining the absence, to be submitted within three (3) days of the absence. The district will not change the attendance code for written notifications received after (3) three days.
Throughout the summer, Boyertown Area School District has worked to streamline the absence reporting process for all stakeholders. Parents and guardians can now complete an absence request through their Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. The Infinite Campus Absence Request feature has replaced the Google Attendance forms and can be used for absences, late arrivals, early departures, and to begin the educational trip request process. This Absence Request Video shows you how to complete the IC Absence Request process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please send an email to campusportalhelp@boyertownasd.org or contact your building's Attendance Secretary.
Thank you for your attention to this important update. We appreciate your cooperation.
Volunteering
As many of you know, Boyertown Area School District has a rich history of volunteerism. Last year, we updated our process for managing volunteers and their required clearances, etc. to include the Raptor software platform already in place throughout the district.
We strongly encourage volunteers who have expired within Raptor to update their documentation following the instructions received from Raptor. Please read the following FAQ's that may answer questions regarding your expired clearances:
- Raptor sends emails, to the email address used for the Raptor Application, at 60 days and 30 days prior to expiration. This email includes instruction to update and submit clearances.
- The same Raptor Application is completed when applying for the 1st time or updating due to expiring document(s). All 3 clearances must be uploaded with this application, even if only one document expired and the others are still within 5 years. This is one of the reasons we strongly recommend never getting rid of the original documents.
- Anyone who has previously been approved by Raptor should refer to the email they received from Raptor notifying them of their approval. In that email, Raptor provides a link and instructions to sign up for the Raptor Volunteer Portal. Once logged into the portal, they will be able to view their expiration date. However, they cannot view previously uploaded documents or upload new documents from the portal. (If their approval has expired, they will not be able to access the Raptor Portal)
- Clearances are valid for 5 years from the date they were obtained, NOT the date they were submitted.
Finally, we invite those of you who are new parents/guardians to the district, and those of you who want to become new volunteers to do so now. Doing so will ensure that you are ready to join us when volunteer opportunities of interest arise.
Avoid delays. Get started today!

Deliveries of any kind (forgotten homework, birthday treats, lunches) are to be made directly to the office only, not to the classroom.
Classroom Birthday Treats
All classroom/birthday treats must be pre-packaged and store-bought with the ingredients clearly written on the label. If possible, please be sure treats are of the same type (same flavor, no icing, all icing, etc.).
For the safety of all students, DO NOT send in any nut products as there may be students in the class with nut allergies. Please read your snack labels and DO NOT send in snacks that state: "Manufactured in a factory containing nut products" or "May contain allergens".

From the Nurse's Desk
Below you will find information regarding health room procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the health room nurses at 610-473-1770.
With the colder weather months coming up, please ensure your child has appropriate clothing (coat, hat, gloves, shoes, etc.) for outside recess. The Health Office does not have extras of these types of clothing.
Below are guidelines for keeping your child home from school. We recommend that you consult with your child’s primary healthcare provider for:
1. A cough that interferes with your child’s sleep or ability to participate in school activities or is associated with shortness of breath.
2. Fever: A temperature equal to or greater than 100 degrees without the use of fever-reducing medication. Your child must be fever-free for 24 hours prior returning to school.
3. Vomiting or diarrhea. Nausea lasting longer than 24 hours.
4. Unusual skin eruptions, hives, or rash.
5. Redness or drainage from the eyes.
6. Excludable Conditions: according to Pa. Code 27.71, students may be excluded from school for these specific diseases and infectious conditions until deemed non-infectious by a physician/school nurse: Diphtheria, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis (whooping cough), Rubella, Chickenpox. Respiratory streptococcal infections, scarlet fever, Infectious conjunctivitis (pink eye), Ringworm, Impetigo contagiosa, Pediculosis capitis/Pediculosis corpora (lice*), Scabies, Trachoma, Tuberculosis, and Meningitis.
Please refer to the BASD student handbook for more information.
* Change of clothing: Please keep a change of clothing in your child’s backpack, regardless of their age. Clothing can become soiled due to a bathroom accident, fall outside in the mud, or because of spilling food/drink. The health room may not have appropriately sized clothing, so if your child does have an accident of any sort, a parent/guardian will be called to bring clothing in for the student.
