Kami Updates and More
Tech Tip Tuesday (February 13, 2024)
One of the most versatile classroom tools got an upgrade!
Use data-informed decisions in real-time or after an assignment!
Kami is more than just a PDF annotator for students and teachers to use. Using Kami's Class View with Schoology, teachers can easily see student progress while they are completing an assignment and see an entire class's work with one click for easy grading and feedback.
With their new Insights feature, teachers can see trends in student data and how they are doing all from the same screen. You can adjust your assigned task to help with questions that might need rewording or clarification.

From asynchronous recordings of content to creating centers for your classroom, slide recordings help you effortlessly record visual and engaging presentations without ever leaving Slides.
Updates to Appointment Schedules in Google Calendar
Google introduced new appointment scheduling features to help you set more relevant meeting durations (great for office hours, parent-teacher conferences, and other scheduled meetings) and tailor your calendar view to match your preferences.
Now, you can add co-hosts AND check for availability on other folks' calendars.

This one has been out for a while, but I thought I'd share!
Drive rolled out changes that accelerate user productivity across new views in Drive.
A new streamlined homepage for Drive called Home makes finding files that matter most
easier and faster.
Specifically, youβll notice:
- Filter chips to narrow down your search and find relevant files faster across Drive,
- A more modern and inclusive design with Google Material Design 3 guidelines that helps you navigate across Drive much more efficiently

Incorporating Black history and culture is vital for a comprehensive understanding of both American and global history. Black History Month serves as a platform to spotlight individuals who have contributed groundbreaking innovations, art, and achievements and those who advocated for equality through organized protests and activism.
Below, you'll find an array of resources collected by Common Sense Education encompassing videos, texts, lessons, podcasts, and more, covering activists, art and culture, inventors, engineers, historical events, and beyond, with additional broader collections listed at the bottom of this article for further exploration.
Each curated resource includes a suggested grade band, yet many are versatile and suitable for various age groups, inviting consideration of how they can be integrated into instruction or utilized at home, whether during Black History Month or throughout the year.

π Hey elementary reading teachers! π
Create your own fun games like bingo, races, and Connect Four with your sight words!
Although it works great with UFLI, you can create your own custom lists to your curriculum's foundational reading words and get kids having fun while learning their sight words!
