Dear Families,
We are so excited for this school year! What a great first day we had! Hopefully, this second day will be even better!
A few reminders as we begin...
*Student Arrival begins at 8:20 AM for all students. Tardy time begins at 8:45 AM and we ask that your student please arrive before this time to get the best start to their day. If you are running late, you must bring your child to the front office to sign in.
*Student Dismissal begins at 3:15 PM for all students. Please continue to be patient these first few days as we get our Car Rider and Walker systems in place. Buses will also be running behind as drivers learn your children and their routes.
*Please note that we ID everyone who visits our school whether they are volunteering or picking up a student early from school. We must see ID. You may have a picture on your phone.
*If your child took home his/her iPad over summer and has not yet brought it back to school, please send the iPad and charger back to school tomorrow.
*Please reach out to Nurse Baker with any medication information or allergy information for your child if you have not already done so. Her email address is jennifer.baker@k12.wv.us.

Color Days in Kindergarten & School-Wide
Each day, our Kindergarten focuses on a certain color and tries to wear that color to school. It is so fun when everyone participates school-wide. Please see the order of our Color Days below.
Monday - Red Day
Tuesday - Orange Day
Wednesday - Yellow Day
Thursday - Green Day
Friday - Blue Day
i-Ready Inform - Beginning of Year (BOY) Assessments
Our students will begin taking their BOY i-Ready Inform Assessments. Please see the schedule below for 1st - 3rd grades. (Kindergarten assessments will be done later in September and those dates will be communicated closer to time.) We ask that students take their time and work hard so that the information received will be accurate and give a good instructional starting point for the year. Family reports will be sent home sometime after all assessments are completed.
1st Grade:
Reading Assessment - August 26 - 27
Math Assessment - August 31 - September 2
2nd Grade:
Reading Assessment - August 26 -27
Math Assessment - August 31 - September 1
3rd Grade:

Goodbye Pool, Hello School! Back-to-School Pool Party!
Event Information
Our PTA is hosting a Back to School Pool Party on Monday, August 24 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Admission is $5 at the door. Meal Deals will be available for purchase at $5 each. Volunteers are need to help serve food. Click here to volunteer.
School-Wide Expectations & Discipline Information
We have been practicing school-wide and classroom expectations/routines the past two days at school. Your student will bring home a detailed pamphlet explaining these expectations and a handout with highlights about our school-wide discipline program.
*We also practiced our first fire drill today. It went very smoothly.
Don't forget to wear your sneakers on the day you have PE. Thanks!
