FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL

The first day is a celebration! In the education world, the first day of school is like New Years Eve and at Jungman we take pride in officially counting down and ringing in the new school year promptly at 7:45 am!

Arrival for the FIRST DAY ONLY: Due to construction projects on the field, this will take place on the playlot! Gates will open at 7:30 and parents are welcome to escort their child into the playlot the first day of school. At 7:45 we will ring in the new year and begin transitioning into the building. Parents will be able to stay with their children on the playlot but will not be allowed into the building.

Families of our younger students, while we know this is a big step and sometimes there are tears, students generally enter the building and settle in quickly. Many times, the longer parents linger and hold on to their loved ones, the more the loved ones can cry. There will be many staff members available to support your child when you leave and we PROMISE to call you immediately if there are any issues or concerns.

DISMISSAL for the first day of school will be through the gym doors for every student. Please note that teachers will release students as they see adults to pick them up in grades PreK-3rd grade and our cluster students. Jungman staff will bring all students inside at 2:55 to wait in the office if they are not picked up on time. Please note there are no after school programs or after care the first week of school.

Arrival and Dismissal Process for the 2nd day of school and beyond.... Arrival and Dismissal Process for the 2nd day of school and beyond....

Daily Arrival:

  • Students will enter through open gym doors beginning at 7:30
  • When students enter the gym they will have an assigned area for their classroom and will wait in those seats until 7:45. Staff will be present for supervision.
  • At 7:45 students will be greeted by their teacher, get their breakfast and head to class.
  • Parents are not allowed into the building through the gym doors at anytime

Daily Dismissal:

  • Students will exit the building between 2:40 and 2:45 through the gym doors
  • Students in PreK, Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade will be held in the gym area or just outside the gym so that teachers can ensure they go to an adult or older student who is picking them up.
  • Prompt pick ups are important as we do not have supervision for students after school. IF you are running late, please contact the office immediately!
  • Parents are not allowed into the building through the gym doors. Also keep in mind that teachers will not be able to meet/conference during pick ups as they are supervising students; please schedule a time with your child's teacher if you need to discuss something.
