2024-25 PCS Virtual Academy Application (Returning Students Must Apply)
Applications for PCSVA are now open for the 2024-2025 school year. Share our website and the application to enroll at PCS Virtual Academy for the 2024-2025 school year! If every current student recruits one new student, then we will double our enrollment! We are so proud of our hardworking community of students and want everyone to experience the collaborative environment where we focus on learning and academic growth!
All students, new and returning, will need to complete the application.
PCSVA received a grant from the NC Problem Gambling Prevention Program and students in Ms. Wilkins classes participated in the Stacked Deck program. They learned about the various forms of gambling and the impact it has on finances and other areas of life. This week students worked together to bring awareness by decorating some of our classroom doors on the 3rd floor! We will continue to highlight what students have learned throughout the semester.
Congratulations Ms. Everidge
Shouting CONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Everidge our Career and Technical Education teacher! She was recognized for Academic Excellence as one of the top 25% in the state in credentialing of students enrolled in her courses. She teaches Career Management, Public Safety 1 and 2, and Emergency Management! We are thrilled for her accomplishment and so glad she can offer these courses to our students!

Class of 2024 Scholarship Opportunities
The Next NC Scholarship
The Next NC Scholarship is a financial aid program that helps most North Carolinians from households making $80,000 or less pursue a higher education, by fully covering tuition and fees at any community college in the state or more than half of, if not all, tuition and fees to attend any public university in North Carolina.
Students attending a North Carolina community college will receive at least $3,000 - more than the cost of full-time tuition. Those attending a public university will receive a minimum of $5,000, which pays for more than half, if not all, of tuition and fees.
Applying is simple. Students will just need to submit the FAFSA form, and if they're eligible, they will receive the Next NC Scholarship. There are no additional forms to fill out!

Piedmont Community College Calendar
Our program is designed to focus on effectively providing a high-quality, virtual learning environment for all students and we ask that families commit to being enrolled for the entire school year. Student engagement is critical in the virtual learning environment; therefore, students will be expected to keep their cameras on during synchronous (live) instruction with their teachers and peers. Attendance will be taken based on this policy. There will also be opportunities daily for students to work asynchronously and having parent/family support is strongly encouraged.
While we are able to instruct our students virtually, all district and state-mandated assessments will need to be conducted in person onsite at our location. Assessment schedules and detailed instructions will be provided in advance of each district and state-mandated assessment for 5-12 students.
