November News
It was a great week to start our November! Although they just returned from break, the kids did a wonderful job jumping right back in and remembering all the expectations they had learned previously. We are hitting the ground running, and with only about two and a half weeks before Thanksgiving break, we really want to make the most of this time.
As parents and caregivers, we know this stretch of the year can be a tough time to keep kids motivated with school, but partnering with you at home makes a huge difference. One of the best things you can do is simply read with them daily and talk through everyday activities—using specific, descriptive vocabulary to explain what you're doing, whether you're working with tools, cooking, shopping, or spending time outdoors. Ask them what they are learning each day, and if they hit a wall or seem to be struggling, ask how you can help them tackle it together. Squeezing in a few minutes for quick math facts practice or short writing tasks goes a long way. Thank you for teaming up with us to keep their momentum going strong!

Transportation, Pick up & Drop Off
Transportation and Dismissal Reminders
Any transportation changes must be reported directly to a person in the front office by 1:45 p.m. No bus changes will be accepted after 1:45. Secretaries cannot approve a bus change that is not on the bus master or approved by Heather McKinley.
For the safety of all students, students may only ride the bus they are regularly assigned to in the morning or afternoon. Students will not be permitted to change buses or ride home with another student, as our buses are at capacity.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during drop-off and dismissal. It takes a few extra minutes to safely get students to their cars, verify that they are leaving with the correct person, and keep traffic moving. Our priority is always the safety of every student, so we appreciate your patience as we work together to make arrival and dismissal as safe and efficient as possible.
Volunteer Background Checks
If you are going to volunteer, have lunch, or attend field trips with your child, a volunteer background check must be completed and approved each year. They do not carry over from year to year.

Braves of the Week
2nd Grade: Eila Mooney
Eila is a model student. She comes to school every day ready to learn and give her best effort in everything she does. Eila has made great progress in both reading and math already this school year. Keep up the great work, Eila!
3rd Grade: Mia Gilbreath
Mia has been such an amazing student. She has worked hard to build her skills and maintain a positive attitude. Mia has continued to grow her confidence. Mia pushed through difficult moments with a smile. She is always on task and one of the first to help when someone is in need. I am so happy to have Mia in our classroom and watching her grow.
4th Grade: Jocilynn Weese
Even when things are hard and she has difficulty, she tries and tries again. She is always eager to give 100% and willing to give her best. She seeks help appropriately and has really improved in her reading. She volunteers in class and participates when she is asked. I am very proud to nominate Jocilynn as the Brave of the Week.
5th Grade: Journie Hopper
Journie is helpful to her teacher and her classmates. She goes the extra mile during intervention to master skills needed to be successful in 5th grade. I appreciate her mix of love and spunky personality, and I am so glad I get to be her teacher this year!
A new school year brings fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and discover. Together—as families, educators, and students—we can make this year one filled with curiosity, kindness, and success.
