Message From Admin
Peace and blessings to you all!
As we continue our journey through the liturgical year, we reflect on the beautiful words from the Gospel of Matthew 3:17 shared in church this weekend: “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.” This verse was proclaimed during the celebration of the Baptism of the Lord, and it reminds us of our own identity as God's children. As we move on from this final week of the Christmas season and enter Ordinary Time, we are invited to carry the joy, hope, and light of Christmas forward into our everyday lives.
It has been good to see our school community slowly finding our way back into the rhythm of learning after the Christmas break. While the early mornings, alarms, and homework may have come as a shock to the system, students and staff are settling back in and rediscovering routines. The energy in the building feels less like holiday mode and more like “we’ve got this”… most days anyhow. Especially when final exams and the end of the semester are on the horizon!
We would like to extend congratulations to our Senior Girls Basketball team on winning the Consolation game at their tournament in Cold Lake, well done! To our Senior Boys, we commend your perseverance as you faced some very strong teams. Your determination and teamwork are inspiring, and we have great faith in you. Best wishes as well to our Junior Boys and Girls basketball teams, who are excited to begin their seasons this week with their first league games on Thursday.
As we look ahead, please remember to review the exam schedule posted later in this Smore. Additionally, please note that Wednesday, January 28th is now an instructional day, and all students are expected to attend.
May we begin this week grounded in faith, grateful for our blessings, and confident that each of us is deeply loved by God.
Have a wonderful week, and God bless.
With gratitude,
The STMY Administration Team

Winter is Here!
In the past couple of weeks, we have noticed that many of our students have not been dressed properly for the frigid and snowy conditions that are upon us. As winter weather sets in, we ask all students to dress appropriately for cold, snowy, and icy conditions. Warm coats, hats, gloves, and proper footwear are essential to ensure safety and comfort while traveling to and from school and during outdoor activities. While we appreciate our students' expression of style, Birkenstocks are best saved for warmer weather! They pair better with sunshine than snowbanks! Students will not be allowed to participate in fieldtrips, sports activities, etc., unless they are properly dressed! Thank you for your support in helping our students stay safe, warm, and ready to learn this winter.
