Preparations for the new school year are already underway. Part of that preparation is completing the 2024-2025 CURRENT Student Information Update task in the Online Registration feature of the ParentVue portal for each of your students. Confirming/updating your student's information is REQUIRED by the start of the new school year for ALL students attending Linden Community Schools.
Cheryl Thomas named Assistant Superintendent
I am excited to announce that the LCS Board of Education has approved the promotion of Cheryl Thomas to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. This is a great opportunity for Cheryl and Linden Community Schools.
Previous to her new role as Assistant Superintendent, Cheryl has served Linden Community Schools as a Building Principal, and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
Cheryl has been a tremendous asset to our district. She has worked tirelessly to make Linden Community Schools a better place for our students and staff. We are looking forward to working with Cheryl as our new Assistant Superintendent.
Meet Katie Morford, Central Elementary Principal
Linden Community Schools is proud to welcome Katie Morford as the new Principal for Central Elementary. Mrs. Morford has experience as a classroom teacher, Math Coach, and building principal.
What you may not know about Mrs. Morford. She has climbed a glacier, went inside a glacier, saw a volcano erupting, and even experienced a flat tire while traveling through the countryside of Iceland. Learn more about Mrs. Morford (click link)
Help us welcome Katie Morford!
Do YOU want to join a WINNING TEAM

LHS ESports are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
The team was invited to the LOS Scholastic National Spring Championship Tournament after winning the MIHSEF State tournament this May. The team of Max Montague, Nick Miller, and TJ McCrimmon played on June 12th against other state champions from across the U.S.
After 3 games, the team made it to the semifinals and were seeded 3rd, losing one game to Wheaton, IL. In the semifinals they beat the 2nd seed team from Thornton, IL 4-3. In the finals, the team went back up against Wheaton, their only loss from the previous night. Linden jumped out ahead early in the series by winning the first match. Wheaton won the next match, and the teams proceeded to trade on and off for the next 4 matches. In the final match, Wheaton was up by two points with 40 seconds to go. Linden scored to tie, and with 11 seconds left they scored the winning goal to be crowned National Champions.
Congratulations!

Additional updates to the south end of LHS included electrical systems, HVAC systems, fire alarm system, paint, and flooring. Linden High School Athletic Hall of Fame
Contrary to what you may have heard on social media, the Linden High School Athletic Hall of Fame is NOT being eliminated, but it is undergoing a modern facelift. During the extensive renovations that the high school is undergoing this summer, the items have been carefully removed, digitized, and are currently being stored in a nearby classroom.
Linden High School Administration has developed a distribution timeline of trophies and memorabilia, all of which have been digitized.
