Parent Forum Success!
Last night we welcomed over 50 members of the JES community into the library to discuss our hopes and dreams for the school. The collaborative spirit from educators, parents, and community members that was present throughout the conversation made for a very productive and enjoyable night. We are currently compiling all of the notes that were taken of the many wonderful ideas and suggestions that were given about ways to create amazing experiences for students at JES. Thank you so much to everyone who participated. I appreciate your desire to support the children of this community!"

MAP Growth Testing Info
Hello Johnson Jaguars!
Our winter MAP Growth testing window is opening next week. For the next two weeks, all students at JES will take this adaptive, computerized assessment to help teachers target their instruction and allow students to celebrate their areas of academic growth. This assessment, given three times a year, provides information not only about how much your child has learned, but also how well they are performing compared to grade-level peers across the nation. In order to best support your child’s education, it is important that they take this test seriously and put in their best effort.
While taking this assessment, students are expected to see questions that are both too easy and too hard. This helps the adaptive program pinpoint exactly where your child is in terms of their academics. Seeing hard questions can discourage some students, so we encourage you to speak to your child at home and remind them that seeing challenging questions means that they have done a great job on the assessment so far.
You can help prepare your child for the assessment by ensuring that they get sufficient sleep the night prior to their test, and by encouraging them to succeed. If you would like to learn more about the MAP Growth assessment, you may follow this link to access their online Family Toolkit with more information.
Thank you for your support in helping every Johnson Jaguar succeed,
JES Staff
