Fun Week Coming Up!
Hello Panther Parents,
"School culture encompasses the shared values, beliefs, norms, and traditions that shape the way people in a school community interact and behave, influencing everything from student learning to staff morale."
I am very proud to say we have a pretty spectacular school culture at New Prospect Elementary! There are way too many reasons to list here on why our school culture is spectacular but one of the major reasons is we are innovative in providing positive experiences for our students that are above and beyond what we get with government funding. To name a few: our STEM Lab with Mrs. Davis, an extra teaching position to support struggling learners and reduce ratios in the classrooms so all of our students can get more direct and personalized instruction from their teacher, the opportunities to have clubs like Science Olympiad & Chorus, ways for teachers to get innovative things for their classrooms that meet the needs of the students in front of them, all of our PBIS rewards for students...the list goes on! All of these things make New Prospect the amazing place it is and the ONLY way that these things are possible is because we have the funds from PTA. If the school didn't have the PTA funds from the fundraisers they do we would not have all of these things and therefore our culture would be negatively affected and your child's experience would change. We need everyones help to make this happen! Fundraising is not fun...it's hard, it's annoying but it's totally worth it. Thank you in advance for your support!
Registration is officially open for our annual Boosterthon Fundraiser. Register your child now at MYBOOSTER.COM. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support all of the NECESSARY FUNCTIONS and programs of the PTA. If we exceed our goal, we plan to develop a PANTHER ZEN DEN, which is a calming student lounge. PLUS, we will provide surprise additions to our brand new PANTHER PANTRY!

Thank you to everyone who helped us continue the Daffodil Project at NPE!
The Daffodil Project is an Atlanta based initiative of Am Yisrael Chai, a nonprofit Holocaust Education and Genocide Awareness Organization, which “aspires to build a worldwide Living Holocaust Memorial by planting 1.5 million Daffodils in memory of the children who perished in the Holocaust and in support for children suffering in humanitarian crises in the world today. This is New Prospect Elementary's third year participating in this effort, and our first year working towards being a designated "No Place for Hate" school. Events like Taste of New Prospect, the Kind Campaign, and the Daffodil Project contribute to NPE being a community of belonging, respect, and opportunity.

Inside Recess Request
- If you want your child stay inside for recess as the pollen counts increase...you must provide either the Health Care Plan or a Letter from your Doctor (on letterhead) that specifies when the student is to remain indoors (yellow, orange, red). Research supports that recess is VERY important for children to have during the school day.
SSS Inventory April 14th-25th
The Student Success Skills Inventory is used to measure student growth across Student Success Skill standards as a result of Rethink Ed lessons. It takes about 15 minutes to complete. The inventory is pushed out to students using the Illuminate platform. Parents can choose to opt their student out of the inventory. To opt out, parents must submit an email to Amy Lemons lemonsa@futlonschools.org.
