A Wonderful Start to the 2026–2027 School Year!
On Wednesday, our staff enthusiastically welcomed students back to WTHS for the 2026–2027 school year! As students and families arrived, they were greeted by a warm “Welcome Back to School, WTHS!” display on the front lawn. Many paused to capture this special milestone—from freshmen beginning their first day of high school to seniors celebrating their last first day. Teachers and administrators also commemorated the occasion by taking pictures in front of the sign.
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as students eagerly entered the building. After receiving their device pouches to securely store their internet-enabled devices, students gathered in the gym, cafeteria, or auditorium until the bell rang for first period.
Throughout the hallways, teachers stood at their classroom doors, greeting students with encouraging and warm words such as, “Good morning,” “How was your summer?” “Welcome back,” and “It’s going to be a great year!”
The building was filled with positive energy, excitement, and a shared commitment to success. It was a wonderful beginning to what promises to be an outstanding school year for our students and staff!
Thank you to all for a great start to the school year!

Welcome Back Video
Thank You, Mr. Ingram!
A special thank-you to Mr. Ingram for capturing footage of our staff warmly welcoming students back to WTHS and transforming those special moments into a wonderful Welcome Back video. His creativity and dedication helped showcase the excitement, positive energy, and Eagle pride that filled our school on the first day. We truly appreciate his talent and commitment to highlighting the spirit of our WTHS community!
Staff Prepared for a Successful School Year
Before welcoming students for their first day, our staff came together for two days of collaboration, learning, and preparation. Team members had an opportunity to reconnect, welcome our new staff, review our schoolwide goals and the action plans designed to achieve them, and participate in professional learning. Staff also reviewed important procedures with our school nurses and received a brief overview of Eagle’s Landing and the valuable services it provides to our students.
As part of our opening activities, staff members shared their personal “why” for working in education. Their inspiring responses will be displayed in our hall as “Our Winslow Why.” They also selected one word representing their hopes for the new school year.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the HSA for generously sponsoring our Welcome Back Breakfast. It was a meaningful and energizing start to what promises to be a successful new school year!
Ready to Learn!
Our students are excited about the new school year—and their enthusiasm is already shining through! One student was so impressed by the welcoming setup of her Early Childhood Education classroom that she created a short video to showcase the learning environment.
In her own words, she is “ready to learn!” What a wonderful way to begin the school year!
Working Together in the Winslow Spirit
At WTHS, we believe that some of the most meaningful lessons extend beyond the classroom. Learning the importance of community, collaboration, and stepping in when help is needed prepares our students to become responsible and caring citizens.
Each year, as a new class of 9th grade students begins their high school journey, our Technology Department takes on the demanding task of preparing Chromebooks for distribution. This process includes unpacking, setting up, labeling, tagging, and organizing each device, as well as clearing away the packaging materials.
Embracing the Winslow spirit of collaboration, History teacher Ms. Feighery saw an opportunity to teach her students what it means to work together toward a common goal. She mobilized her 6th and 7th period students to assist our Technology Department—and they rose to the occasion!
Working cooperatively and professionally, the students unpacked, prepared, and tagged an impressive 240 Chromebooks in just 20 minutes. Our technician, Mr. Sanchez-Baret, was extremely impressed by their teamwork, efficiency, and professionalism.
Thanks to these remarkable students and Ms. Feighery, the Chromebooks are ready for distribution next week. To celebrate their valuable contribution to our school community, the students enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch with their teacher.
We are incredibly proud of our students for demonstrating that when we work together, we can accomplish great things. A tremendous thank-you to Ms. Feighery for creating this meaningful learning experience and inspiring our students to put the Winslow spirit into action!
Eagle Pride Is in Full Swing!
Our athletic teams have been busy over the past several weeks! From football and soccer to field hockey and tennis, our student-athletes have proudly displayed their talent, determination, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
This week, the Winslow Eagles football team earned impressive victories over Neptune and Kingsway, showing that our Eagles are ready to rise to any challenge! Our tennis team also celebrated an exciting win against Atlantic City during Thursday’s match.
Our Marching Band and Cheer Team have been working hard as well, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and unmistakable Eagle pride to every event as they support and cheer on our teams.
The talents of our students extend beyond the athletic field and behind the camera! Mr. Ingram, our Television and Radio Broadcasting teacher, and his students continue to provide an impressive multi-camera livestream of our football games. Their professionalism, technical skills, and attention to detail produce a high-quality viewing experience that allows families and community members to enjoy the excitement of Eagles football from wherever they may be. We are incredibly proud of the students who bring each game to life through their outstanding work behind the scenes! Thank you Mr. Ingram for guiding the students!
We extend our sincere appreciation to our coaches, volunteers, administrators, staff, parents, families, and the entire Winslow community for supporting our student-athletes. The Winslow spirit is strong, and we proudly “bleed green” as we stand behind our Eagles—on the field, on the court, behind the camera, and everywhere they represent WTHS!
Let’s continue to show up, wear our green, cheer loudly, and let everyone know that Eagle pride lives here. Go Eagles!
A Friendly Reminder About Device Pouches
As we continue settling into the new school year, we want to remind all students and families that bringing and using a device pouch each day is required. New Jersey state law prohibits students from using personal internet-enabled devices during the school day, so this is not simply a Winslow rule—it is a state law we must all follow.
When students arrive, cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, and other personal internet-enabled devices must be placed inside their assigned pouch. The pouch should remain locked and with the student throughout the school day and is unlocked at dismissal.
Students, please remember to bring your pouch to school every day. Families, we appreciate your help in reminding your child to arrive prepared and follow the procedures. Working together, we can reduce distractions and create a school environment where every student can remain focused, engaged, and ready to learn.
Review the 2026–2027 Student Handbook
Students and families are invited to visit the Winslow Township High School website to review the updated 2026–2027 Student Handbook, which contains important policies, procedures, and information for the new school year.
The handbook will not be printed and distributed. Instead, please visit the website and look under News and Announcements to access and review it.
Thank you for staying informed and helping us begin the school year prepared for success!
