Kindergarten

Kindergarteners are continuing to work on basic computer and mouse-skills. We are still focusing on a letter of the week and doing crafts around that letter. We have read The book, "The Alphabet Tree" by Leo Lionni and are making our own alphabet tree in the library.

Pre K

Pre-K library consists of storytime, music & movement, and book selections. Media that is chosen each week is usually based on a theme. Some of the themes that we have done so far are self-esteem, staying safe, and dealing with our feelings.
Listen to Story About Good Citizenship
Classes have had a lot of discussions about our core value. Ask your child what they are doing to be a good citizen and what that means to them. They will probably impress you with their answer!

Spotlight on Nutmeg Nominee Books

Every seed, big or small, needs sunlight, water, and an uncrowded place to put down roots. But how do seeds get to the perfect place to grow? This exploration of seed dispersal covers a wide range of seeds and the creatures that help them move, from a coconut seed floating on waves to an African grass seed rolled by a dung beetle, to a milkweed seed floating on the wind. (Amazon Books)

About the Author
There are 15 Nutmeg Picture Book nominees. All are available for students to check-out and read. In the spring we will vote along with other schools and libraries across our state for the winner.
