Peek Into Anamoose Drake Elementary

• A New Role for Mrs. Schuh! 📊 Mrs. Schuh has added another role this year as our Data Interventionist! In this role, she will be digging into the data for all of our students at Anamoose-Drake Elementary. She’ll look closely at student scores from the smaller assessments given throughout each quarter, along with other academic data, to help us identify where students are doing well and where they may need some additional support. She’ll work with our teachers to use that information to guide instruction and interventions throughout the year. We’re excited to have her take on this role and to watch the growth of our students! 📈

• Homecoming Week is next week, September 14–18! 🏈 We have lots of fun activities planned throughout the week, including activities with our high school students, courtyard games, reading with our elementary students, and the pep rally in Drake on Friday. We are excited to celebrate Homecoming together!
• Super Apple Man is coming! 🍎 He will be at Anamoose-Drake on September 21 at 1:15 p.m. for a special assembly for our K–6 students. He will be sharing about making healthy choices!
• Secret Pen Pals 🍂: We are doing Secret Pen Pals again this year with all of our K–6 students! Each student has been matched with a secret pen pal from another grade. Each month, they’ll exchange a letter based on a different monthly theme. Our September theme is “Favorite Fall Activity”! We love this fun way for our students to connect with others throughout our school while also working on their writing skills! 💌
• Castle Time 🏰: Our first Castle Time of the year will be September 25th! For those new to Castle Time, our K–6 students are divided into 10 different “castles,” with students from all grade levels mixed together and a lead teacher for each castle. Throughout the year, the castles meet to participate in activities focused on a different social-emotional learning and character-building theme each month. We’ll work on important life skills like kindness, respect, responsibility, teamwork, making good choices, and building positive relationships with others.
• World’s Finest Chocolates 🍫: Our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser is underway! Chocolate will be sent home with students who have returned their permission slips. Thank you for supporting our students and school!
