Early Education
Dear Families,
I have always loved the start of a new school year. There is something special about brand-new pencils and notebooks, fresh beginnings, making new friends, and all the possibilities that come with a new year. I am so excited to welcome you and your family to another wonderful year in our Early Education program!
I grew up in Brainerd, Minnesota, as the daughter of children’s pastors, so working with and caring for children has been a meaningful part of my life for as long as I can remember. I attended the University of Wisconsin–Stout, where I studied Early Childhood Education. I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue that passion by serving as the Director of our Early Education program.
While you may not see me in the classroom every day, I want you to know that I am here to support our teachers, our families, and, most importantly, our children. My goal is to help create an environment where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and excited to learn, while also making sure our teachers have the support they need to provide the very best care and education for your children.
A little about me outside of school: I married my youth group sweetheart, and together we have two boys, Lee III (23) and Logan (19). Our family is entering an exciting new chapter as Logan has joined the Marines and will be heading to basic training this fall. We are incredibly proud of him and excited to support him on this next adventure.
When I am not at school, I enjoy biking, taking walks, going out for coffee, and taking road trips. I love spending time with my family and finding opportunities to enjoy the simple things in life.
A quick note as we get ready for the new school year: Classroom welcome letters have been emailed to families, so please take a moment to check your inbox. These letters contain information from your child's classroom teacher. If you did not receive a classroom welcome letter, please let us know so we can make sure it gets sent to you.
I am truly looking forward to getting to know you and your children throughout the year. Please know that my door is always open. Whether you have a question, a concern, a suggestion, or simply want to share something wonderful about your child, I encourage you to reach out. Open communication between families and our program is so important, and I want you to feel welcomed, heard, and supported.
Thank you for trusting us with the care and education of your children. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year filled with learning, growing, friendships, and many special moments along the way!
Warmly,
Lettie Fundanét,
Early Education Director
