Principal's Message
As we welcome the winter season, we wanted to send a friendly reminder regarding our recess procedures.
We believe that fresh air and outdoor play are essential for students, even when it gets chilly. Therefore, our policy is to take children outside for recess every day, provided the weather conditions are not too extreme (such as dangerously low wind chills or heavy precipitation).
To ensure your child stays comfortable and safe while playing outdoors, please make sure they are dressed appropriately for the weather. This includes:
• Heavy coats
• Hats
• Gloves or mittens
• Warm boots
• Snow pants (when there is snow)
We also ask that you clearly label all of your child's clothing and accessories with their name. With so many similar items, labeling helps us ensure that lost gear finds its way back to the correct owner. (As a reminder we clear unlabeled items from the Lost and Found monthly for donation).
Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Community Fundraiser Complete
Dear Center School Families,
We wanted to send out a heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible community. In just 10 days we raised enough funds to help support 15 families (63 people) in our school communities at both Center School and Hale Middle.
We are so grateful for your generosity – nearly $12,000 in donations have allowed us to provide the families in our community with three weeks each of grocery gift cards to assist them during this period of uncertainty as well as gift cards to Small Farm, which allows them to also enjoy fresh produce from a great farm in our town.
Whether you were on the giving or receiving end of this effort, this fundraiser really demonstrates what a special community we have here in Stow. Thank you for helping your neighbors and allowing your neighbors to help you.
Sending warmth and kindness to all,
Miriam Lobenstine and the Stow PTO
Updates from the Health Office
Colds, flu, and other respiratory illnesses are common in the colder months. As we begin to enter the Winter season, I thought I would share the chart below with you as a resource, if needed. As a reminder, handwashing is easy and it is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. At school we are encouraging our students to be frequently washing their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, encouraging them to not touch their eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands, cover their coughs and sneezes, and are continuing to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects such as tables ,toys, and doorknobs. Thank you for your efforts in helping to promote a health school environment for all of our children at The Center School.

Pick Up Patrol
Attendance & Dismissal Updates: No more phone calls, paper notes, or emails!
Reporting Absences, Late Arrivals or Early Dismissals
All student absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals should now be entered through PickUp Patrol. This allows the school office, health office, and classroom teacher to access the information directly.
Absences (Please enter as soon as you know of an upcoming absence. It helps us a lot when they are in prior to the day starting).
Late arrivals
Any changes to dismissal plans (before 2pm)
Using this program ensures that the school office, your child’s teacher, the health office, and the dismissal team all have the same, up-to-date information each day. Families can access PickUp Patrol through the mobile app or the website dashboard.
