Where Little Panther Cubs Begin BIG Journeys
From the Principal
ππΎ Week Eight Highlights at Luce Road
Dear Luce Road Families,
This is how we Take Chances, Make Mistakes and Get Messy! Our little Panther Cubs are learning to ROAR with pride as they discover how βwe do school.β
Eight weeks into the school year, our Cubs continue to grow in confidence, independence, and kindness. From trying something new to practicing classroom routines, each day brings opportunities to learn and grow together. ππ
ποΈ Safe Hands & Responsibility
We continue to practice Safe Hands while focusing on Responsibility throughout October. Safe hands help us share, play, create, and care for one another. We are teaching our Cubs to keep their hands safe, use words to solve problems, and ask an adult for help when they need it.
Being responsible means learning that our choices affect ourselves and others. We practice responsibility by:
Taking care of toys, books, and classroom materials
Cleaning up after ourselves
Following directions and routines
Using kind words and safe hands
Trying our best and asking for help
Families can reinforce these skills at home by giving children a small responsibility, such as putting away toys or helping set the table. Celebrate their effort by naming what they did: βYou took care of your things. That was responsible!β
π Responsibility Challenge
At the end of the month, each class will nominate a student who has shown outstanding responsibility. We look forward to celebrating the everyday choices that help our classrooms learn and grow together!
Our childcare, preschool, and kindergarten students were thrilled to welcome the local fire department this week! Firefighters arrived in their big red trucks, giving the children an up-close look at the equipment they use to keep our community safe. Students learned about fire safety, asked great questions, and even got to see the flashing lights and hear the sirens. Weβre so grateful to our local heroes for taking the time to visit and inspire our future helpers!

Transportation Changes
Please make sure you are calling the school by 2:00 p.m. to make changes to your students transportation routine, whether its a new person picking them up, switching between the CarLine and the Walk up Line, After Care and Bus. Please communicate directly with the school main office about changes to your Childs transportation home. Staff will NOT change a transportation plan on the direction of a student.
Dressing for the Weather
Please help your child dress for the weather. Our Panther Cubs have outdoor recess 3 to 4 times a day. Mornings can be chilly, so send a jacket or hoodie and closed-toe shoes. Students are expected to go outside each time. Please label all items with your childβs name. Thank you for keeping our Cubs comfy and ready to play!
Checking Your Student Backpack!
Please check your students backpacks for their folders. Important notes and information will come home via those folders. Today a note came home for some students from the main office about missing Enrollment Paperwork.
Labeling Student Belongings
Parents and guardians, please label your Panther Cubβs belongings, including backpack, coat, lunch box, and water bottle. Our Lost and Found is filling up, and labeled items can be returned quickly. Thank you for your help!
Clothing
Please make sure you send a change of clothes in for your student. Sometimes accidents happen and itβs helpful for them to have a change of clothes.
Please make sure ALL of your studentβs belongings are labeled with their name! If it gets lost, staff will know who to return it to!
