A GLANCE AT MARCH
Late buses are available M-Thursday for students who may want to stay after for extra help. We have two late busses, North and South, and they stop at various spots in the town.
Students have plenty of time to reach their goals! This current Quarter ends on March 31st.
If you have any concerns about your child's progress, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Teacher of the Week!
Mrs. Clifford and Officer Hernon started a Criminal Justice Club for FBMS last year where they bring in a variety of guests, and it's been a very popular club. Mrs. Clifford exemplifies the MPSD Mission, Our challenge is to create a safe and secure environment where every child and adult feels a deep sense of belonging, where individual differences and styles are respected and valued. Within this culture, we will do our best to continue to develop every child toward becoming enthusiastic and confident life-long learners.
Thank you, Mrs. Clifford!

LIBRARY PROGRAM MARCH & BOOK FAIR WINNERS
ALL Gold Club students will receive an email invite to this fun event with even funner prizes!
Golds MUST reply that they are able to attend the Event.
Students who are NOT Golds can participate (and Golds can Level Up for the event) by choosing a book from the FBMS Library either print or eBook (Sora) collections. Students start with zero points.
- You have to read a minimum of 17 pages (in honor of St. Patty's Day) of that book and share with me what happened in those first 17 pages.
- You can share in writing, verbally, by video, or even a drawing-like a storyboard. You need to include your name and the name of the book - that's it!
- Then come see me to get a scratch card to see how many points you will start the event with. It can be 1- 3 points!
If you CAN'T attend the event, you will be offered different Scratch cards with prizes attached- hopefully you will have the luck of the Irish and will win actual GOLD! The Event is..... a scavenger hunt in the library. Students can form teams of three, work in pairs, or work solo.
You or your team will be given clues to locate books with Shamrocks inside. Each shamrock earns the team a point.
I will post a live digital scoreboard so students will know which clues have been answered.
There will be prizes for all, at varying levels of coolness, including real GOLD.
The highest scoring team will get to tag the lowest scoring team with green silly string spray!
The event takes place in the Library after school on St Patty's Day until 3:30. All students will need a ride home.
Mrs. Deluca
Congratulations
to our book fair winners

FROM THE CLINIC
Message from the FBMS Clinic
ATTENTION: Parent or Guardian: Winter 2022/23
7th Grade Physicals are due: Please forward an updated physical, via e-mail or fax, to the clinic.
The peak of the cold and flu season is upon us. To prevent widespread flu in the school, we recommend that your child stay home from school if experiencing flu or cold symptoms. To decide whether or not to send your child to school, please consider the following guidelines:
Consider keeping your child at home for an extra day of rest and observation if he or she has any of the following symptoms:
● Very stuffy or runny nose and/or cough
● Mild sore throat (no fever, no known exposure to strep)
● Headache
● Stomach ache
Definitely keep your child at home for treatment and observation if he or she has any of these symptoms:
● Fever (greater than 100 degrees and your child may return to school only after his or her temperature has been consistently below 100 degrees, by mouth, for a minimum of 24 hours)
● Vomiting (even once)
● Diarrhea
● Chills
● General malaise or feelings of fatigue, discomfort, weakness or muscle aches
● Frequent congested (wet) or croupy cough
To help prevent the flu and other colds, teach your children good hygiene habits:
● Wash hands frequently
● Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth
● Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, use a paper tissue, throw it away and then wash hands
● Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Colds are the most contagious during the first 48 hours. A child who has a fever should remain at home until "fever free" for a minimum of 24 hours. Often when a child awakens with vague complaints (the way colds and flu begin). It is wise to observe your child at home for an hour or two before deciding whether or not to bring them to school. Your child should be physically able to participate in all school activities on return to school. Keeping a sick child at home will minimize the spread of infections and viruses in the classroom.
Please also take the time to click on the links below for flu guides for parents from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Thank you in advance for helping make this year at school as healthy as possible.
