WAUWATOSA MONTESSORI SCHOOL
September 27th, 2024
PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Community:
Thank you to everyone who came out to Montessori Curriculum Night this week! Our teachers and staff did an amazing job of preparing students to showcase their math passion and our Montessori math curriculum. If you weren’t able to attend, here is a link to a video about the Montessori math curriculum and the book I referenced in my presentation. At our upcoming fall conferences you will get to hear more about the math concepts and skills that your student has been learning and their learning progression.
Fall Conferences Thursday, October 10th and Friday, October 11th
Thursday, Oct. 10 (12:00pm - 8:00pm)
Friday, Oct. 11 (8:00am -12:00pm)
Parent-teacher and parent-teacher-student conference sign ups will be coming out next week Monday, September 30th at the end of the day. The purpose of the conference is to provide a dedicated time for family engagement and communication and for teachers to collaboratively work with parents and students to identify goals, update goal progress, and determine next steps for learning goals.
Schools that are successful in increasing student learning have staff that provides parents and students with frequent and ongoing communication regarding academic and social emotional learning goals. Research and practice show us that a process that engages parents and students in setting/monitoring/updating learning goals increases student learning.
Conference Guidelines:
Conferences are about 20 minutes each
In-person conferences are the recommended method
If a family needs a virtual option we will provide one. After signing up, parent(s) should email the teacher to share that a virtual conference is requested.
A phone conference can also be used
Goal is for 100% of parents/guardians to be present for conference
