January 19-23

Thursday January 22nd and Friday January 23rd @ 9 AM, JL Long will host it's annual feeder visits for our rising 6th grade students and their teachers. All students will complete a quick tour and receive a short presentation and greeting in the auditorium. We cannot wait to host your student!

Our Buc of the Week for January 19-23rd is Mr. Gary Walker. Mr. Walker wanted to create a culture of celebration for students and went out and DID IT. He is working with all stakeholders in planning 8th grade events, activities, and opportunities for celebration. On campus, he demonstrates kindness to all! Thank you for all that you do!

Quarter 2 report cards will be available for pick up in the Main Office during Parent Conference Night on January 27th from 5-7 PM. If they are not picked up, they will be distributed to students in their first period classes.

This time every school year can be stressful for our students thinking about the amount of testing days. To better prepare, we want to communicate early about testing windows so that parents and students can prepare. These dates below are district required windows for testing.

STAAR Simulation is a way for students to experience the STAAR and practice with the same procedures and guidelines given to students during the real exam in April.

February 17th - TELPAS testing window opens (English Language Proficiency exam for Spanish speakers)

February 18th - STAAR Simulation RLA

February 24th - STAAR Simulation Math

February 25th - STAAR Simulation Science

February 26th - STAAR Simulation Social Studies

March 10-11 - Spanish Proficiency Exam (not for all students)
