Dear Winnetka Families,

We are excited to share that beginning in Fall 2026, The Winnetka Public Schools will be launching full-day Kindergarten at Crow Island, Greeley and Hubbard Woods Schools.

This change is in alignment with legislation from the State of Illinois. Additionally, extending our school day reflects the District’s commitment to providing young learners with the time, support, and resources they need to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Full-day Kindergarten will allow time for deeper learning, improved access to related arts, additional creative play, and foster continued meaningful connection with teachers and peers.

Registration for 2026/2027 opens the first week of December 2025. Further details about enrollment, schedules, and curriculum will be shared at our Incoming Kindergarten Family Information Night on January 21, 2026 (details below). Registration kiosks will be set up and available that evening for parent access beginning at 4:30 p.m. prior to the presentation to allow families to register with the support of District staff.

A Winnetka Parents Institute Session with Winnetka Administration

Register for Kindergarten in 26/27 on-site from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Session from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Greeley School

275 Fairview Ave., Winnetka

This informational session is for Winnetka parents whose children will enter Kindergarten in the 2026/2027 school year. Parents will learn the resources and experiences that await students once they begin Kindergarten in The Winnetka Public Schools.

Families will learn about:

• The Transition-to-Kindergarten process, presented by the Principals of Crow Island, Greeley, and Hubbard Woods Schools

• A glimpse into a typical Kindergarten day in The Winnetka Public Schools

• Supports for student needs that are available through the Department of Student Services, Equity and Inclusion
