Redmen Review
February 7, 2025
Flipping, Tumbling, Balancing---and Breaking Records!
The girls' gymnastics team is having a fantastic season!
On Friday, January 24 the Lady Redmen competed in Deuel against Deuel and Britton-Hecla. They tied and broke several gymnastics records that had been set by the 1995-1996 team including team bars, beam, floor, and team. Izzy set an All Around Individual record with a score of 35.1.
On Thursday, February 6, the team broke their own records at the Region meet, placed 3rd overall and set a new school record team score of 134.225. Cristal placed 15th on vault, Colie 9th on beam, and Izzy took home 10th on bars, 3rd on beam (with a new school record score of 9.05) and 9th on vault.
Best of luck to the team as they continue to compete!
Knowledge Bowlers Continue Winning Streak
Twenty-seven students competed on Wednesday with Sisseton Silver (5th), Sisseton Sunflower (8th), Sisseton Scarlet (9th), Sisseton Sapphire (11th) and Sisseton Spring (14th) all improving in their scoring as the season progresses.
The teams will take a break from regular season competition until March, but are looking forward to an exhibition match for their fellow students at SHS in two weeks.
Intro to Ag
Flowers in February!?
Maryann shows off the pipe-cleaner flower she made that helped her and her classmates learn the different parts of a flower as they studied plant propagation.
Youth Internship
Sam is ready to dress for success! Learning to read clothing labels, set up and use an iron and board, and tie a tie are all details students are learning so they can look their best on the job.
Culinary Arts
Are you ready for some football!? Students in Culinary Arts are! They spent the week practicing dips and desserts in preparation for watching (and snacking!) while the Chiefs and Eagles play this weekend.
Homework Help
Stay caught up with your homework and grades by participating in Homework Help every Thursday in the SHS library from 3:20-5:00 pm. Come for a quiet space to work and extra support from teachers.

What is one of your favorite things about teaching? When students ask questions. It shows that they are curious and where their interests are.
What is your favorite dish from the cafeteria? I love packing my lunch--leftovers, sandwiches, meal prep, I do it all!
How do you spend your summer breaks? Prepping new lessons and spending time with my wife
What is something interesting about yourself? I have written two four-page poems on light fixtures
