Pink Shirt Day Is Almost Here!
Pink Shirt Day (also called Anti-Bullying Day) is an annual event where people wear pink to stand up against bullying and promote kindness and inclusion. But if you don't have a pink shirt on hand, your child can still participate in meaningful ways:
Show Support Through Actions
Write a kind note to someone.
Sit with someone new at lunch.
Compliment three people that day.
Speak up if you see someone being excluded.
Get Creative
Decorate a sticky note or paper with a kindness message and wear it.
Create a “I stand against bullying” badge from paper.
Use pink highlighter or crayon to write a message on a white shirt (if allowed)
Wear What You Have
-
Add a pink accessory (hair tie, socks, bracelet, ribbon).
-
Make a paper pink heart or ribbon and pin/tape it to your shirt.
-
Draw a small pink heart on your hand with washable marker.

Your child may have a FREE College Savings Account!
Did you know your child may already have free money set aside for their future education? Through the CalKIDS program, the State of California provides higher-education savings accounts to eligible students—at no cost to families.
We’re excited to share that 2nd grade students are now eligible for CalKIDS in addition to other qualifying grade levels.
As of January 2026, families in Salinas City Elementary School District have already claimed 1,949 CalKIDS accounts, representing only 24% of eligible students districtwide. We encourage more families to take advantage of this opportunity!
Congratulations to Boronda DIAS School—50 percent of their students have successfully claimed their CalKIDS accounts. This is a significant achievement, and Boronda DIAS is one of only seven schools in Monterey County to reach this milestone.
Culture and Climate Family Survey e-Version Open Until March 1
The electronic version of our Culture and Climate Family Survey (also known as Panorama) will remain open until March 1. Your feedback is critical because it directly informs the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) as well as each school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). By completing the survey, families play an essential role in shaping decisions, allocating resources, and strengthening our schools.

Hazel Health: Here for Student Good
As a reminder, our District partners with Hazel Health to provide students with access to virtual physical and mental health services during the school day. With parent or guardian consent, students can connect with licensed providers for concerns such as headaches, stomach pain, minor illnesses, anxiety, and emotional well-being.
Hazel Health helps reduce barriers like transportation challenges and long wait times, supporting student attendance and engagement.
