CSD Weekly Update

A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Dear Centennial Students, Families and Staff,
It was an exciting week in Centennial as we welcomed back 5,400 students to our hallways and classrooms! Seeing the smiling faces of students and staff reminds us why our work matters, and as I visited each of our schools and talked with students and staff, it is evident there is much to be proud of, and so much opportunity ahead in this new school year.
Preparing for a successful start to the school year is a collective effort; it takes an entire team working in unison to successfully open a district for students, and I want to honor the many efforts of our employees. First, a special thank you to our facilities department for all their hard work cleaning our schools and preparing our grounds for the arrival of students and staff. Our schools are beautifully maintained, all because of the pride these folks take in their work. I want to recognize the efforts of our administrative assistants and our building and central office administrators for a phenomenal job scheduling, ensuring that supplies were delivered, planning staff development, hiring and orienting staff, and preparing for the start of the year. I also want to acknowledge the dedication of our food service personnel, our coaches and band directors for their time and dedication, and our bus drivers who work to transport students safely to and from school. While there are always adjustments that need to be made at the start of a new year, we will continue to diligently address and resolve those issues, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Finally, I want to thank our faculty and staff for their enthusiasm and dedication to their craft. Every employee in our district plays an integral role in making Centennial a special place for students to learn and grow, and we appreciate the tremendous support from our community.
Before I close, I do need to let you know that the safety and security of our students, both physical and emotional, will always be our highest priority. While we are blessed and thankful for such a positive start to our year, the same is not true for all. Sadly, our nation was impacted by a senseless, horrific act of violence against children this week in Minneapolis. No parent, family, or school should ever have to endure something like this, and we mourn with those families and their school community. Moments like this are a reminder to remain vigilant and proactive, and to cherish our families and our connections. As a district, we will remain steadfast in doing everything in our control to care for our children, and for each other, to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the Centennial School District. It is our privilege to work with you and for you to provide students with a phenomenal education, and the opportunity it affords. Enjoy the long weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Abe Lucabaugh, Ed.D.
Superintendent
🚨 Important Transportation Update 🚨
We want to provide you with an important update regarding our transportation system.
As you may be aware, the School District’s Transportation Department recently experienced technical difficulties with the Skyward portal’s routing system. Our team worked diligently throughout the week to resolve the issue.
We’re happy to report that the Skyward portal (accessible through ClassLink Family Access) is now functional, and accurate bus routing information is available for you to view.

Each year, more and more people and organizations are turning to our District to help get the message out about various activities, events, fundraisers, etc. The intent of this process is to support student achievement and to provide mutual assistance and benefit through shared information. Our district spends a great deal of time collecting, reviewing, and posting flyers to the District eFolder. The District no longer is posting eFlyers to any social media outlets or the District cable channel. You may refer to Policy 913 for additional information.
