Viking News - The Week of 11/10/2025

The Week of November 10th, 2025
Happy Friday, RMHS Students & Families,
This past week was another exciting one at RMHS with so much to celebrate. We began the weekend/week with three amazing performances of 'Working' as the RHS Drama Llamas blew us away with their theatrical talents. The cast and crew were phenomenal, entertaining us all throughout the weekend.
The Varsity Girls' and Boys' soccer teams competed at home for the first game at the state tournament level of competition this past Wednesday. ⚽🎉 We are excited and proud to congratulate both teams on winning their first round games and we wish them luck as they head into the next stage of competition!
RMS students will meet with Angela Lee, Director of 'Love is Respect', this coming Thursday, November 13th during the school day to learn more about forging healthy relationships in the age of social media. Families and community members of all ages are invited to attend the evening event hosted at Brackett's Oceanview at 5:30 pm. Light appetizers will be served. A huge thank you to the Brackett's family for hosting this important event. We hope to see you all there!
Report cards were released to students this afternoon (Friday, November 7th). All grades are posted in Aspen and RMS students received a printed copy as well. Any high school student who would like a printed copy of their report card can obtain one by reaching out to Ms. Lucido in the main office (clucido@rpk12.org). If you have questions about your child's progress, please email their teachers directly.
A reminder that there is no school this coming Tuesday, November 11th in honor of Veteran's Day. A special note of recognition and gratitude to all the people who have served in our armed forces in honor of our country.

Attendance Update
Being in school and on time are extremely important to your child's success. When students attend school regularly and arrive on time, they stay engaged in their learning, build strong relationships, and develop solid study habits. Please help us by making sure your child gets to school on time each day. The cafeteria and library are open at 7:00 am and free breakfast is available in the cafeteria for all students. The main hallways and classrooms open at 7:25 am.
Students with more than three unexcused tardies in a quarter will be required to make up the time on learning after school. Mr. Parisi sent a notice to impacted students and families this past week and students will be expected to make up the time beginning on Wednesday, October 15th. Students are also ineligible to participate in after-school activities if they are chronically tardy. We appreciate the family support in making on-time attendance a priority.

For those students not able to get to school early on any given day, we will provide a set time in the morning to be sure breakfast is accessible to all. Breakfast and lunch continue to be free for students this year.
RMHS Parent/Guardian Communication
In order to strengthen the home/school partnership at RMHS, we will be providing a number of resources for families to keep you informed of important information and events. Resources include:
The Principal’s page on the RMHS website.
The “RMHS Viking News” emailed to all students and families beginning the first week of school.
Your child’s Aspen account and Google Classroom pages for the most up-to-date information within individual classes.
Routine email communication for parents to guide and inform important upcoming events, school-related expectations, and/or happenings.

School Safety Reminder
The school campus is closed to the public when school is in session and after 10:00pm nightly. This includes the use of the tennis courts, track, playgrounds, athletic fields and all other parts of the campus. This does not include families and community members attending school events in our schools or on our school grounds.
