From the Principal's Desk
Dear SHS Families,
Students and staff alike made their way through the first full week of the school year. The task of navigating a full schedule looks a bit daunting for the first time of the year, but our teachers gave excellent guidance to our students, and they responded in kind with hard work and good attitudes. Great job getting screeners, STAR testing, and jumping into those first units of study, students!
There were a few changes to the upcoming calendar that warrant a check. If you haven’t added the school’s Google Calendar to your device, I strongly recommend doing so, or you can check the school’s website for the most up-to-date calendar.
Picture day is coming up on September 16th, and order forms should be coming home. Don’t forget that SHS students are to wear a red shirt that day with the SHS crest on it.
Finally, the Greer family is getting ready to make a new addition to their flock. My wife and I are expecting our first boy any day now, as the due date is coming up this Sunday. I will be stepping in and out of the office for the two weeks following to help us adjust to our baby boy, but I will still be available via email if needed. Wish us luck, and any intentions made on our behalf are greatly appreciated.

🎃🍂 Fall Festival is Almost Here! 🍂🎃
Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 11, 2026, from Noon to 4:00 PM in the parish parking lot for an afternoon of family fun, food, and fellowship!
Come hungry because the Knights of Columbus will be serving up delicious burgers and brats, and Maria's Mexican Food Truck will be on site with tasty favorites (all for purchase).
There will be something for everyone to enjoy, including:
- Fall crafts
- Face painting
- Petting zoo
- Popcorn
- Ice cream
- Balloon artist
- Cake Walk
- Bingo with fantastic prizes
Plus, all of your favorite games from last year are returning, along with four brand-new games that are sure to be a hit with our older kids!
Keep an eye on your mailbox! A special Fall Festival postcard will be arriving in the coming weeks. Be sure to save it and bring it with you to receive 5 FREE tokens at the festival.
We can't wait for the cooler fall weather and the opportunity to spend a fun-filled afternoon together. Invite your family, bring your friends, and join us for a day of laughter, community, and fall festivities!

REMINDER- Trash bag sales are due Friday, September 4th.
Added Doorways
Add walling, framing, and doors to entryways fitted to support electronic panic and locking hardware. Possibly remove and fill an unneeded door
Extended Access Control
Add electronic lock controls to three new doorways; outfit one of those locks with a remote opener for office use; and integrate controls into the current Motorola Solutions Access Control Manager program.
Comprehensive PA System
PA system housed within the school office with two-way communication to 9 learning spaces, as well as speakers that reach restrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces.
