WINTHROP WEEKLY
March 4th, 2026
Dear Families and Caregivers,
As we shake off the winter chill, we are thrilled to welcome the arrival of March. With spring quickly approaching, we are looking forward to the brighter afternoons and the renewed energy that longer daylight hours bring to our hallways and classrooms.
March is a season of growth both in nature and in our school community. At the heart of our mission is the success and well-being of every child. We want to reiterate our unwavering commitment to supporting all students as they navigate their unique learning journeys.
Whether it is through extra academic guidance, emotional support, or a simple word of encouragement, our staff is here to ensure every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to do their very best.
Our classrooms are currently buzzing with activity as we near the end of the term. It is inspiring to see our students digging deep into their projects, finishing core units, and demonstrating the incredible progress they’ve made since the start of the year.
Today, we are especially excited to announce that we have started our "Drop Everything and Read" (D.E.A.R.) initiative! This program encourages our entire school community to pause what they are doing and dive into a good book. It is a wonderful way to foster a lifelong love of reading and provide a moment of calm and focus during our busy school day.
Due to the snow days we have moved our end date for the term. The current term will officially conclude on Wednesday, April 1st. We encourage our families to check in with their students as they wrap up final assignments and celebrate their achievements from this term. We are so proud of the dedication they continue to show every day.

GREEN TEAM UPDATE
Dear Parents and Families,
Thank you to the Winthrop students who volunteered to join the No Idling Campaign at dismissal last week. Officer Perna and students reminded idling cars to turn off their engines when parked - it's the law! Unless you are actively driving through the Connector to drop off/pick up child/children, please park and turn your engine off. It all adds up to cleaner air!
Also, thank you to the Green Team SLC students for helping to serve local honey (from Beverly!) on apple slices at last week's Harvest of the Month. Kids devoured the tasty treat like candy!
Thank You,
Green Team
