Principal's Corner

What an exciting and memorable week at SCMS! Our Tigers participated in Bullying Prevention Spirit Week, proudly wearing themed attire to demonstrate our shared commitment to kindness, respect, and standing together against bullying. Our eighth-grade students also traveled to Richmond, Virginia, to participate in Mission Tomorrow, an engaging career exploration event that connects students with more than 100 local businesses through interactive activities and meaningful conversations about future career opportunities.

We concluded the week on a high note with our First Nine Weeks Awards Ceremony, where we proudly celebrated students for their outstanding academic, behavioral, and attendance achievements. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us in recognizing our students! Your presence and continued support speak volumes about the importance of our school-family partnership. Together, we are laying a foundation that will positively impact our students for years to come.

We would also like to recognize our girls' basketball team as they concluded their season. Although the season did not bring the victories we had hoped for, our Lady Tigers demonstrated something far more meaningful: perseverance, determination, and heart. Through every challenge, they remained steadfast, showed up ready to compete, and represented SCMS with pride. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and resilience. A special thank you to our coaches and families for their encouragement and support throughout the season. Remember, Tigers, success is not always measured by the scoreboard, but by the character, growth, and determination displayed along the way!

And the excitement doesn't stop here! We invite you to join us next week for our first Tiger Time Showcase, where you will have an opportunity to witness firsthand the creativity, talents, and unique gifts of our Tigers. We look forward to celebrating the incredible things happening at SCMS with you!

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and unwavering support of Sussex Central Middle School. Together, we are making a difference, one Tiger at a time! ~ Dr. Reavis
