Today we will be doing our monthly safety drill. This month, we will be doing a "HOLD". The drill will begin with an announcement letting staff and students know it's a drill.

An announcement will be made, “This is a drill, we are now in a hold, we are now in a hold, we are now in a hold.” When the drill is finished, we will announce that the HOLD is over.

During the drill, teachers will close and lock their classroom doors, account for all students and adults, and continue on with teaching and learning. This protocol is used when there is a situation in the halls that require students to remain in their classrooms and out of the hallways. One example of a time this could be used would be a staff or student who needs medical attention.

Kindness Club at UES is a group that meets once a month on Wednesdays after school from 3-4pm in the school library. Our mission is to spread kindness throughout our school community, and beyond. We start each meeting with a light snack, and discussion, and spend the rest of our meeting time engaged in a kindness project. Students sign up for each individual meeting that they are able to attend.

The federal government has approved Pandemic-EBT benefits for the current school year, until the end of the public health emergency. Because our district offers free meals to all students this year, this makes all students eligible to get P-EBT benefits for any days they had an excused COVID-related absence or if there was a COVID-related school closure. Please read this important letter for information regarding this benefit, eligibility, and who to contact should you have questions.

Registration for the Spring 2023 Little League Baseball and Softball season is now open! Central Vermont Little League offers programs for boys and girls between the age of 4 and 12. The league serves the communities of Berlin, Cabot, Calais, East Montpelier, Marshfield, Middlesex, Montpelier, Plainfield, and Worcester.
