Honoring Black History Through Learning and Reflection
The Hueneme Elementary School District is honored to participate in celebrating Black History Month throughout February. This year’s theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” recognizes the 100-year legacy of Black History Month and its enduring importance in preserving and elevating Black voices, stories, and achievements. Students are engaging in meaningful learning experiences, discussions, and activities that highlight influential leaders, changemakers, and everyday heroes whose impact continues to shape our nation. We are proud to celebrate these stories and reaffirm our commitment to learning, understanding, and respect for all.
Additionally, our African American Parent Council (AAPC) is sponsoring a Black History Month Bulletin Board contest for all sixth-grade classrooms. We look forward to seeing our students' creative displays.
Thank You to Our School Counselors!
During National School Counselor Week, we proudly recognize and thank our school counselors for the vital role they play in supporting our students. From academic guidance to social-emotional support, our counselors are dedicated advocates who help students navigate challenges, set goals, and thrive both in and out of the classroom. We are grateful for their compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the success and well-being of every student.
100 Days of Growth and Learning
Our schools recently celebrated the 100th Day of School, marking an exciting milestone in the academic year. Students and staff recognized 100 days of learning, growth, and achievement. It was a joyful reminder of how far our students have come and the learning that continues each day.
