🐾 🎉 Wrapping Up a Fantastic School Year – A Note from Mr. Shoultz 🎉🐾
Dear Panther Families,
As we wrap up this year at JCMS, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made together and thank you for being such a vital part of our school community. This year has been full of growth, learning, and celebration—and none of it would be possible without your continued support.
Here are just a few highlights we’re proud to share:
🧠 STEM Connections Across the Curriculum
This year, we made a school-wide effort to increase STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) awareness across all subject areas. Whether students were building models in science, using our VR head seats to travel to various parts of the globe in social studies, applying logical reasoning in math, or engaging with technology in ELA and electives, we worked to help them see how STEM connects to the world around them. It’s all part of preparing them to think critically, solve problems creatively, and get excited about future opportunities in STEM fields.
📈 Stronger Attendance, Stronger Learning
Thanks to the commitment of our students and families, our attendance rate jumped from 91% to 94% this year! That’s a big win. We know that when students are here, they’re learning more, growing socially, and building the habits that lead to long-term success. We’re proud of this progress and grateful for your partnership in making it happen.
📊 Using Data to Meet Student Needs
Our teachers continued to lean into data-driven instruction this year—using assessments and progress checks to guide lessons, adjust instruction, and provide timely support. This helped us meet students where they are and make sure everyone had the opportunity to grow and succeed.
🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2029!
To our 8th graders—thank you for the leadership, energy, and growth you brought to JCMS. As you head to Jennings County High School this fall, we wish you all the best. You’re ready for what’s next, and we’ll be cheering you on!
As summer begins, I hope your family enjoys a well-deserved break. Encourage your students to stay curious—explore, read, ask questions, and keep their minds active. We’ll be ready to welcome everyone back in the fall with new energy and exciting plans.
On behalf of all of us at JCMS, thank you for a fantastic year. Have a safe and joyful summer!
Warm regards,
Mr. Shoultz
🐾🔒 SRT Locker Clean Out 🐾🔒
The end of the school year is just around the corner, which means… it's time to clean out your locker! 🎉
This Wednesday, May 20th, during SRT, all students will need to completely empty their lockers as we get ready for summer break and prepare the school for next year.
🗓️ What You Need to Do:
✅ Take Everything Home
Make sure to bring a backpack or an extra bag to carry home all your things — notebooks, water bottles, and random items that have somehow lived in your locker all year.
🗑️ Throw Away or Recycle Trash
Old papers, dried-out pens, empty snack wrappers… if you don’t need it, toss it! Recycling bins and trash cans will be available near the hallways.
🧽 Wipe It Down
Each student will be asked to quickly wipe down the inside of their locker to leave it clean for next year. We’ll provide disinfecting wipes or paper towels for this part.

🐾 Athletic Updates: 🐾
For any current 5th, 6th or 7th grader who plans to participate in sports for the 25-26 school year. Fall sports will begin before school starts. Be on look-out for more info.
🐾 PARENTS & GUARDIANS OF ATHLETES PARTICIPATING IN WORKOUTS🐾
Reminder: to participate in athletics, student athletes MUST have a sports physical on file at JCMS and must be registered on Final Forms.
Schneck Urgent Care at 1124 Medical Pl. Seymour, IN 47274 is open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday-Friday and 8 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday. This location offers sports physicals for $25 cash/debit/credit (meaning they do not run insurance)
If your athlete attended tonight’s after school workout and did not have a physical on file, they received a form that can be filled out and taken to their physical. Having this filled out ahead of time will make your trip much quicker. If they do not have a form, they can get one from the JCMS athletic office!
For any questions about this process, please contact the JCMS Athletic office during school hours. We look forward to all of our athletes being able to participate!
