Washington December Update

Members of Washington's Student Council spent multiple nights ringing the Salvation Army bell in front of Walmart while singing songs of the season and greeting customers. Thank you to our Student Council members and advisors, Mrs. Calcaterra and Mr. Hanson, for braving the cold and spreading some holiday cheer!

Kindergarten students traveled around the world this month to find out how different cultures celebrate the holiday season. We flew back to school just in time for winter break!

K-3 students helped pack the gym on Friday, December 15 for the ever popular Winter Sing! With K-1 performing "Snowmen at Night" and 2-3 "The Big Chill", the afternoon was filled with festive music and endless smiles. A big thank you to our music teacher, Mrs. Troxel, and all of our staff who helped make Winter Sing successful. Thank you to our families for attending and Way to Go Eagles, Way to Go!!

Fourth and fifth grade students were visited by State Representative Schutt and State Representative Rettinger. During their visit, students learned about the roles of State Representatives and their work in Madison. Students received Wisconsin Bluebooks, which they were able to get autographed by the Representatives. In fourth grade, students learn about the history of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin State Government

A great, big thank you to Washington's kitchen crew-Mrs. Chapman, Ms. Syverson, and Ms. Chase. They had all sorts of fun with our students for the month of December with the famous Elf on a Shelf. Between decorating the cafeteria at various times of the year and being excited to serve food to all of our students, our crew is just amazing. Thank you ladies for supporting your Washington School family!

Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and their time to Santa's Shop! The students really enjoy this event and we appreciate all the people it takes to put on this event each year.

Our next PATT meeting will be January 3rd at 6pm in the Library. We hope you can join us!
