January Weekly Update ~ January 9, 2026
What's Happening This Week:
"January is the perfect time to reset, recharge, and renew your focus on what truly matters".
A note from Mr. Lee
New Year, Same Goals: RISE Up
As we welcome the new year, it is a great opportunity to pause, reflect, and reset. While the calendar has changed, our goals remain the same: supporting every student in doing their best academically, socially, and behaviorally. The start of a new year offers a natural restart and a chance for families and students to realign expectations and finish the semester strong.
We encourage you to take a few minutes to check in with your child. A brief conversation about routines, organization, effort, and accountability can help reset expectations and refocus priorities. This partnership between home and school plays a key role in helping students stay on track and continue to grow.
Next week is the final week of the semester, and many classes will be administering midterm assessments. These assessments provide an important snapshot of student learning. Please help your child prepare by ensuring they get enough rest, arrive to school on time, and have time set aside at home to review notes and study materials. Good opportunity to get any missing assignments as well.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Together, we can help our students RISE up, stay focused on our shared goals, and finish the semester and year strong.
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda
Candy Bar Fundraiser Prizes
Students who sold at least one box of candy bars and have a zero balance have received their Urban Air pass. Students who sold two (2) or four (4) boxes and earned the Game Trailer experience will enjoy their prize on Friday, January 9, 2026. Students will be called down in groups every 30 minutes to participate.

2nd Semester
Just a reminder that 2nd semester does not begin until Tuesday, January 20th. At that time, students will report to their 1st hour class that they have been going to since August, they will then get their NEW semester schedules and be dismissed to head to their new classes for the second semester. It is very important that all students arrive on time on Tuesday, January 20th. Thank you for your help on this matter.
Quarter 2 Report Cards
Quarter 2 report cards will only be available digitally through PowerSchool. There will be no paper copies sent home. Report cards will be available for viewing for parents in their Parent Portal accounts at the beginning of February.
Lost & Found
Parents, our lost and found is over flowing! Missing books, missing water bottles, jackets, shoes, and clothing. Please encourage your student to look through the lost and found and claim anything that is theirs. All items not claimed by January 14, 2026 will be donated.
