Hoyne Happenings
Hello Families,
We are off to a great start! It was fantastic to see so many of your at curriculum night the last few weeks. Your support and partnership is valued and appreciated. As I visited classrooms, recess, and the lunchroom over the last week I was able to see our students already engaging in critical thinking and collaboration. I also saw students working hard to include their peers and show kindness, a topic we have have been talking about at Respect Circle.
Friday we had our Fun Run kick-off! This is an amazing event held by our PTA to raise money that supports students and staff throughout the year. Please check out the information that came home with your child on Friday.
This week students will begin taking the i-Ready assessment. Students in all grade levels take this district wide assessment in math and reading. If you missed the letter sent home electronically last week, it is also included below. Students in 4th and 5th grade should also have brought home their MSTEP reports last week. If your child, did not bring these home please reach out to your classroom teacher.
Finally, linked below is the Pembroke Family Handbook updated for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Hoyne

PURE IMAGINATION: Save the date for the 2025 Unabashed Bash that's happening Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Daxton Hotel in downtown Birmingham. This year's theme draws inspiration from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, the fall musical put on by Groves Performing Arts Company (GPAC). We're excited to have GPAC students perform for us again at Bash 2025!
Additional details about tickets will be shared later this fall. If you would like to sponsor Bash or give to the Bash Auction, please do not hesitate to reach out to BEF Executive Director Kathy Zanolli at BEF@Birmingham.k12.mi.us or call 248.203.3030.
