Mr Lisseman - Headteacher

Dear Parents & Carers,

It’s been a bright and busy week at Twickenham School, with sunshine, a few showers, and plenty of energy.

We’ve absolutely loved welcoming Year 5 pupils from Chase Bridge, Nelson and Heathfield primary schools for their taster days—getting stuck into everything from science and maths to drama, music, PE and art.

Year 10 thoroughly enjoyed their own sports day ahead of their rewards trip this Monday, while the rest of the school is buzzing with anticipation for their own adventures next week.

Behaviour and attendance remain strong, uniform is smart, and students are working with real purpose.

Highlights this week include students attending a girls’ STEM workshop and a Sustainability Conference with our BET sister schools.

Excitement is building for tonight’s Pirates of Penzance auditions, and we wish our 46 intrepid Duke of Edinburgh Award explorers the very best as they set off for their Bronze expedition in the Chiltern Hills this weekend. Good luck and we hope the weather remains kind for your adventure.

Student bulletin Student bulletin

Each Monday morning in tutor time, students and their form tutors review the weekly student bulletin. This is a round up of all the important information, notices and reminders that they need to know. The bulletin is also posted on the screens around school so they can refer back to it at any time.

Its been wonderful to welcome Hermione and Ryan back to Twickenham for a week of work experience. They were incredible students and nothing has changed! So great to hear how well they are getting on at Turing House Sixth Form 🙌 And remember, you are welcome to visit any time!

Thank you Teddington School and BET Trust - Sustainability Conference Thank you Teddington School and BET Trust - Sustainability Conference

What a fantastic day for our Year 7 students who attended the BET Sustainability Conference with Teddington School. Over the course of the day each school presented their 'Green Week' strategies, engaged in workshops and worked alongside other students to think about how we can increase our sustainable approach within education. Workshops were hosted by RIBA, Lets Go Zero and ECD Architects. Thank you so much to Teddington School for taking our students on this amazing experience - they've benefited so much from the day and we are looking forward to building in some new strategies and ideas over the coming months.

Mr Hayes - Head of PE

Another fantastic week in PE, highlighted by the Year 10 Sports Day! Students competed with great enthusiasm in their house teams—Mandela, Curie, and Farah—across a range of sports including Rounders, Football, and Benchball.

The day concluded with a lively and competitive old-school sports day, with the three-legged race proving to be the standout event. It was brilliant to see so many students getting involved and showing great team spirit.

Congratulations to Farah House, who emerged as the overall winners of the event!

Reminder: With the recent hot weather, all students are advised to bring suncream, a hat, and a water bottle to their PE lessons to stay safe and hydrated.

Well done to all involved – your hard work and dedication continue to make us proud!

All students are encouraged to attend at least one extra-curricular club per week.
