Parent-Teacher Conferences are an important opportunity to strengthen the home-school connection, and we sincerely appreciate all of the families who took the time to attend. When parents and educators work together, we create a strong partnership that supports each child's academic growth, social development, and overall success. Thank you for sharing your insights, asking thoughtful questions, and collaborating with our teachers to celebrate progress and set goals for the future. We value your continued partnership and look forward to working together throughout the school year to help every student reach their fullest potential. While formal conference time will be over this week, our staff is always happy to discuss your child's progress. If you have questions or concerns at any time, please reach out to your child's teacher(s).

If you missed your parent-teacher conference, please contact your child's teacher to schedule a mutually convenient appointment time.

K-4 students should NOT wear their costumes to school. Please read the detailed letter below for specific information and expectations for Halloween.

Any changes to your child's dismissal plan must be put IN WRITING

and sent to the main office no later than Thursday, October 29th.

if your typical Friday dismissal plan will be different next week due to the Halloween parade.

Preschool students should wear their costumes to school.

With the sudden changes in temperature, please be aware that the children will be going outdoors for recess (30 minutes per day) and often they are also outdoors for physical education classes (45 minutes per session) on a regular basis. Make sure your child has appropriate outerwear (jackets, coats etc.) for the weather of the day.

Please remember to label your child's jackets, gloves, hats, hoodies etc. with their name just in case they get misplaced!

The school day ends at 3:35. Dismissal begins at 3:30.

The expectations is that students are GOING HOME at 3:35. There is no staff supervision for students after our teachers release students to their parent/guardian. In order to prevent injuries and conflicts, please supervise your child(ren) closely and remind them to maintain school expectations on our playground.

For the safety of all, e-bikes and dogs are not permitted on school property during arrival or dismissal times.

All students must be picked up by a person that is listed in Genesis as an emergency contact. Please review your emergency contact pick ups and be sure that they are accurate. Be sure that someone in your emergency contact list is available to pick up your child in an emergency within 20-30 minutes.

If there is a change in dismissal plan, please notify the main office in writing or call us if you're running late. In the event that you are unable to pick your child up on time, supervision is not guaranteed after 3:40. Students will be placed into After School Kids (ASK) and fees will be charged for each student.

Students in grades 2-4 have active subscriptions to Typing Club again this year! Students have learned how to access Typing Club with Mrs. DiTomasso during Digital Literacy time in the Media Center.

How to Access:

• Students can log in directly through Clever.

• Simply click the Typing Club icon on your District Clever dashboard to get started—no separate usernames or passwords required.

Feel free to encourage your child to practice their typing skills at home!

Chorus

Grades: 3, 4
Meets Tuesdays at 8:05-8:55 (start date: October 6th)
Advisor: Ms. Judd
Provides opportunities for students to demonstrate knowledge achieved in music classes by performing in choral groups, presenting concerts for community events, PTA programs, and other special events. More information can be found HERE!

Student Council
Grades: 3, 4
Meets Wednesdays at 8:15 (First dates: Monday, October 12th & 19th due to school conflicts)
Advisors: Mrs. Marrone & Mrs. Grant
Gives third and fourth graders an opportunity to plan and implement school service projects that benefit the community. Coordinates school activities, student government, and promotes school spirit. Serves as an extension of the social studies units, community and civics.

Gardening Club
Grades: 3, 4
Meets every other Thursday 3:45-4:45 (start date: October 8th) Schedule HERE
Advisor: Mrs. Grant
Third and fourth graders will work to revitalize and maintain the Bowne-Munro garden. Students will learn the basics of weeding, planting and designing a sustainable garden.

Art Enrichment
Grades: 1, 2
Meets Thursdays 8:15 (start date: October 15th)
Advisors: Mrs. Thompson & Ms. Vidnansky
Students will expand upon the skills and techniques learned in art class through hands-on art projects. Students will explore different mediums, express their creativity, and collaborate with peers.

Safety Patrol
Grade: 4
Meets Thursdays 8:15 - view schedule HERE.
Advisor: Mrs. Marrone
Works with school personnel to promote school safety by providing student patrols. Students must maintain school-wide behavioral expectations to be considered for a Safety Patrol position. No Fee.
