Leander ISD is excited to offer a unique opportunity for professional staff to apply for our National Board Certification Candidacy Cohort! This program provides a structured, supportive pathway for educators seeking National Board Certification, a prestigious credential that demonstrates your commitment to excellence.
What is National Board Certification?
National Board Certification is a rigorous, peer-reviewed process designed to identify and recognize accomplished teachers who meet high standards for their profession. It's a powerful way to enhance your professional practice and positively impact student learning.
Cohort Highlights:
Structured Support: Receive expert guidance and resources throughout the certification process.
Collaborative Environment: Connect with fellow candidates and build a strong professional network.
Leadership Growth: Develop your leadership skills and expand your influence in education.
Limited Spots: The inaugural cohort will be limited to a maximum of 10 members, making this an exclusive opportunity.
Key Details:
Application Deadline is May 4, 2025. Application for submission.
Notification Date: Applicants will be notified of their cohort status by May 15.
Scoring: Applications will be evaluated using a 100-point scale with varied rubrics by a committee of National Board Certified teachers in Leander ISD.
Essay Component (25-point rubric)
HireVue Component (25-point rubric) – will follow immediately after submission
2 professional references (20-point rubric for both – one supervisor and one professional colleague – 40 points)
1 signature indicating the commitment of the cohort (10 points)
Tie Breaker: Years of service in Leander ISD
Financial Incentives: National Board Certified teachers in Leander ISD receive a $1,500 stipend, with potential for additional compensation from the state if certified.
