Grading System and Academic Progress
Students will receive a final academic evaluation at the end of the trimester. The grade is divided into two categories: (1) assessment (2) classwork which reflects content, skill and standard knowledge and mastery. We view middle school as an opportunity to support students in the development of study skills along with meeting course objectives and standards through critical thinking and high quality work. So in addition to the academic evaluation, students will also receive feedback on how they are doing with regard to academic behaviors through the lens of the school’s C.A.R.E. values. A major goal of middle school education is to support students to be responsible for their own learning.
