Message from the Principal
As we begin the second semester, I want to encourage all of our students to start strong and stay focused on their goals. A new semester is a fresh opportunity - to reflect on what went well, learn from challenges, and commit to giving your best effort each day. Whether you are aiming to improve academically, get more involved, or strengthen positive habits, now is the perfect time to reset and move forward with confidence.
I also want to thank our teachers and staff for their continued dedication to supporting our students, and our families for their ongoing partnership. Together, we can make this semester a successful and rewarding one. I am proud of our school community and look forward to seeing the growth and accomplishments ahead.
Let’s make the second semester a great one - stay motivated, work hard, and take advantage of every opportunity.
Go Comets!
Mr. Steve Fairs
Principal

New family tool launches for Increased Literacy Habits at Home!
South Western City Schools is excited to introduce a new tool that helps families build strong reading habits at home! Beginning in 2026, parents and guardians will have access to Follett Destiny, our district’s virtual library accessible through your school’s website - perfect for supporting increased learning at home, literacy, and for spending more time reading together.
This new digital catalog, similar to services offered in public library systems, allows families to log in to their student’s virtual library account to view current checkouts, explore reading history, and even manage access to specific titles. With this added resource, you can celebrate reading progress, spark meaningful conversations about books, and help find the right book for your student’s interest.
- Don’t see a title you are looking for offered by SWCS? Our friends with the Southwest Public Libraries are tremendous literacy partners in the community! Review their digital catalogs at the link here.
- Getting started is simple - visit the link here to sign up! Click here for the step-by-step Follett Destiny Access How-to guide.
- As you set goals and new routines for the year ahead, this feature makes it easier than ever to nurture a love of reading at home. Here’s to great stories, new habits, and a wonderful year of learning!

Semester 2 Schedule Changes
If students would like to request a schedule change, they must complete the Schedule Change Permission Form. Students may pick up a copy of the Schedule Change Form in the Student Support Center. Students have the first 15 days in a class to request a schedule change. Our date for this semester is February 3, 2026.
After completing the form requesting a schedule change, students should check Infinite Campus as well as their school email. If the request can be made, it will be updated in Infinite Campus. If the change cannot be made, a reason will be emailed to the student. Students must always follow the schedule in Infinite Campus. Thank you, this process will help all schedule change requests be processed in a timely and efficient manner!
