Dear Families,

2/3 Potluck survey results: Thanks to everyone who helped the 2-3 class collect data at the Potluck Supper! Here's what we found out:

Most people said they like to swim.

Most people like ice cream.

Most people like sports.

Some people love baseball. Some people don't. Most people like it. Some have never played it.

More people like to ski than don't like to ski.

More people like mountain biking than don't like mountain biking.

More people like dogs than cats, but more people like cats than hamsters.

More people said they liked skiing hamsters more than flying sharks.

More people love hamsters with all their heart than people who don't.

Almost all people said yes to "Do you like to play outside?" 1 person said no.

Back to School/curriculum information nights: I hope you will all be able to attend the grade level information nights planned for each classroom. These provide an opportunity for your child and their teacher to share their workspace, work in progress and materials with you. The K/1 information night is this coming Thursday, 9/24, 5:30-6:30.

Early release - change: no childcare: I wanted to let you know well ahead of time that there will be no childcare offered this year for the early release days. (The first one this year is October 7.) In order to provide after care, we need to have school staff members present. Because all school staff are expected to take part in the professional development planned by the district, we can no longer free folks up to help with childcare. I know this creates complications for you. I do want to thank Erin Davis for working so hard to make this happen in the past.

Lunch volunteers: Thank you to all of you who have been able to help out. If you would like to volunteer to help with lunch prep and service (11:00-12:00) please sign up here for September/October dates. We need volunteers for this coming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. No experience needed! If you are new to volunteering, you will need to apply here.

From Glenna Piper - Join us for “A Step Back In Time”: We will be redoing the Quaker Village Walking Tour on Saturday September 26, 2026 at 10:00am. Please meet at the Weybridge Town Clerk’s office, for a walking tour to learn the history of the Quaker Village area in the 1800’s. Please register by calling or texting 802-349-8171.

Have a lovely long weekend.

Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or call if you have any questions (802-545-3301),

Best, Christina

Share your experience with 2026-2027 Bus Transportation

Across our district, we are facing significant transportation challenges caused by driver shortages on multiple bus routes. You can find revised bus routes here based on Week 1 changes, and also in your principal’s newsletters. We hope the changes we made in Week 1 will offer stability moving forward and we will continue to make adjustments as needed and hope to get back to our normal bus routes as quickly as possible. However, we are also working to capture the full impact this challenge has had on our families as we escalate this situation to the the Secretary of Education and BetCha’s parent company, STA. Please use this form to document the impact any bus disruptions had on your family so that we can act on and/or pass along the information as we seek resolution.
