2025-26 School Year Academic Calendar

Sequoia Rose Kindergarten

Thank you kindly for a wonderful second year of the kindergarten! This year the kindergarten has been further incorporated into the rhythms of the greater school, and I am grateful for all of the support, kindness, and dedication to further make the dream of a strong early childhood program a bustling, joyous reality. This school year, the children and their teachers experienced the daily wonders of life and the forming of a class community through working, singing, dancing, creating, playing, pausing and being together. Thank you for entrusting us to help the children to learn and grow. Have a lovely, rejuvenating summer!

Kind Regards,

~ Ms. Caterina

Star Class - 1st Grade

What a beautiful school year it has been—both in 1st grade with the Star Class and throughout our whole school community. Seeing the school from the class teacher perspective has been a true gift, and I’m deeply grateful for the support of the faculty, administration, and you our wonderful parents. This school is truly exceptional, and we are so fortunate to educate the children’s heads, hearts, and hands through the richness of Waldorf education.

In 1st grade, we ended the year by sewing our main lesson books, yes, every student sewed their own book! We shared them with our buddies, and I hope each child also had a special moment at home with you, looking through the pages they created throughout the year.

We’ve begun to read and write, our math skills, especially in addition, have grown tremendously, and we’ve spent the year singing, reciting, and growing together. Of course, the favorite moment of the final week may have been Field Day!

I wish you all a restful, joyful summer and look forward to welcoming the children back as 2nd graders in the fall and reconnecting at all our beautiful community events.

With warmth,
~ Mrs. McNamara

Sunrise Class - 2nd Grade

Thank you ALL for such an amazing year. Our classroom was full of laughter, enthusiasm, and hard work. I am so grateful to be a part of this community. Happy Summer!

~ Ms. Aguilar

Bear Class - 3rd Grade

Thank you all so much for your support and dedication to our school! I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

~ Mrs. Bartow

Starfish Class - 4th Grade

Parents, thank you for all you do for our school and loving your children so. Behind every student is a hardworking, caring parent and it shows through their laughter and joy. We have had quite the year filled with animals, jotuns, fractions, and field trips, oh my! We have completed our beautiful 4th grade year. I wish you all a wonderful summer.

Warmly,

~ Mrs. Cooley

Butterfly Class - 5th Grade

Thank you for your support of our class, community, and school over the course of this transitional year. The children soaked up all that the 5th grade curriculum had to offer, and they are academically and socially ready to begin their three years on the other side of the wood chips.

~ Mr. Criswell

Raven Class - 6th Grade

As we bring this remarkable school year to a close, I am filled with deep gratitude and admiration for the Raven Class and all that we have accomplished together. It has been a true joy and privilege to journey alongside these vibrant, inquisitive, and courageous sixth graders as they stepped into the world of middle school. Throughout the year, the Ravens embraced challenges with resilience and blossomed in ways that continually inspired me—demonstrating grit, creativity, and a heartfelt passion for learning. Together, we explored rich topics, celebrated curiosity, strengthened friendships, and asked big questions, always striving to understand ourselves and the world more deeply. I am profoundly grateful to each student for their unique contributions and to their families for entrusting me with this special role. Our classroom has become a true community—one that values learning, growth, and the wonder of discovery. As we bid farewell to a successful sixth grade and look ahead to the adventures of seventh, I am honored to continue this journey with the Ravens, leaping forward with head, heart, and hands into all that awaits. Thank you, Ravens, Parents and Siskiyou community, for being part of this incredible experience.

Warmly,

~ Ms. Chlebowski

Thank you for a great year! It was incredible from beginning to end, with so many highlights through the seasons. Here’s to all the children who call the very best from within us! And here’s to the strong community that guides our beautiful young ones. Happy summer to all.

~ Mr. Beech

Forest Class - 8th Grade

The Forest Class has proven themselves a passionate, engaged group in the seventh grade - full of questioners, and ignited by the heart. Deep appreciation to all of you parents who support this education, these relationships, and the beauty of what we create together. It is with joy that I welcome this group to the High School! Happy Summer, everyone!

Language Arts/Literature

Watching the Forest Class present their astonishing graduation speeches. Playing improv games with the Starfish Class. Hearing the Blue Heron Class recite sonnets by Shakespeare. Just three flowers from this year's bouquet, brought into reality by your belief in and toil for this school.

~ Mr. Barret

What an incredible year it’s been, I feel as though I’ve spent much of it on the verge of joyful tears. From watching a performance where a class rose to meet a challenge, to witnessing a student make a discovery, to receiving the most lovely compliments from your kind children, every day is a chain of heartwarming moments. I am inspired by and grateful to both your amazing children and our entire Siskiyou School community.

~ Mr. Cord

~ Señora Díez

Chinese

Thank you for allowing me the honor of sharing my mother tongue and culture with the children. I am so very grateful for your open mindedness, feedbacks and most of all, kindness. Have a great summer! May your days filled with fun, relaxation, and good times.

~ Zhao Laoshi ( 张老师)

Drama

Theatre is a collaborative endeavor, thank you for being part of it! That moment after the final bow, when you can see the realization dawn on the faces of the actors that - they did it. They created something together, something that needed each and everyone of them. Bringing stories to the stage can be such a powerful (and hopefully fun) experience. Thank you for all the support; running lines with your actors, manifesting entire new worlds in Pine Hall, showing up and being fantastic audience members.

~ Eve Smyth

Office Manager

Thank you families for a wonderful year! I didn’t know I could feel so much happiness, warmth and appreciation from this school community. Being amongst your wonderful children and your beautiful families brings me great joy.

I think this school year I provided somewhere in the range of 1,000 ice packs (joking, I think?), hundreds of band aids, many hugs, tons of high-fives, so very many notes, signed with love from you to them, and lots of other really lovely little tasks that just feel good to do. I am looking forward to a little summer break with my own kiddos, and wishing you all the same!

~Amy
