Something to Yelle About
The Weekly Newsletter for the Henri A. Yelle Elementary
AND STILL AN AWESOME START TO THE SCHOOL YEAR CONTINUES!
Yelle Newsletter for September 22nd!
Hello from the Yelle.
And yet another fabulous week was had in #HAYNation as we continue the start to our school year!
I am so impressed with how everyone is doing with everything. It has been sensational.
As I try to do each week, I use the big picture above to tell the story of the week in pictures for us here at the Yelle.
This week was our Sandy Hook Foundation Start With Hello Week, where we try to support our students in making sure they feel cared for and included in our school community. The top picture was of a board a classroom created with sticky notes of positive affirmations for anyone to take when they need it. The larger picture in the top righthand corner was one of our class's Norton Pride Day. The sea of Purple and White across the building reflected our students' pride in their town and school. The small picture to the left of it shows one of our students who received a #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay for his Random Act Of Kindness towards a peer. This selfless act earned him a trip to our HAY PTO Book Vending Machine because even though it was selfless it deserved to be rewarded. A couple of the other pictures show our students working together and supporting each other in their learning. There are so many of those that I see and snap, and am so proud of whenever I see it. And the bottom lefthand larger picture is of a student writing out his thinking on his whiteboard as we works on a math problem. I always refer to this as a WOOT (Writing Out Our Thinking) which deserves to be celebrated. Our students are doing so phenomenally and we are all so proud of them.
These and the other pictures from Twitter below really do relay a story of the incredible accomplishments our students and teachers achieved in just one week of school. Please check them out below and all over our Twitter feed to help to tell the tremendous story we are writing this year.

ART FUNDRAISER -- ART TO REMEMBER
Art to Remember, our new partner on the NEED & Art Department Fundraiser for the NPS Elementary Schools has free shipping to schools available.
Keep an eye out for more information as we move closer to order time.
Check out potential items at https://arttoremember.com/products
Each year Norton NEED organizes our art fundraiser. This year we are trying ART TO REMEMBER. Much like Square 1 Art, your child will begin to plan their designs to create on
special company paper, as long as the idea is not trademarked.
Finished artwork will be sent to ART TO REMEMBER, where they will photograph each piece of art. Personalized order forms will be sent home October 30th with instructions for
ordering. They will have a list of products to choose from. Some products include magnets, notebooks, key chains & mugs. Order and payment deadline is November 13th.
Orders will arrive in December before the holidays!
These make great gifts for family and friends. NEED generously organizes this fundraiser to help supplement our art budget, to purchase future art supplies!
Also, if you would like to donate to our basic supply of art materials and purchase new fun materials that will inspire students to explore the arts are always appreciated. Thank you so much for all your support!
