Transportation 25-26 Updated on 8/1/25 Transportation 25-26 Updated on 8/1/25

We are quickly approaching the start of the 25-26 school year. I want everything to run as smoothly as possible for the first week.

If you are wanting to utilize bus service for the 25-26 School year, please either fill out the Existing Rider Form (Rode last year) or the New Rider Form (New rider this year). I am removing everyone that has not filled out one of these two forms. I already have close to 600 responses on the Existing form and close to 100 on the New form. If you have already filled out a form, Thank you! No need to do it again.

Existing Rider Form

New Rider Form

As I add all the new riders to the bus, I am sending credentials to log into the Viafy Parent App. Everyone who has requested bus service through the new form will receive their credentials before the first day of school.

1) Go to the App Store

2) Search Viafy Parent

3) Credentials will be sent to email on file once routes are finished.

All riders must sign the 25-26 Bus Rider Handbook. All discipline on the bus will be governed by this handbook. Riding the bus in Sunnyvale is a privilege granted to all Sunnyvale students. This privilege can be taken away for improper behavior or actions on the bus.

25-26 Electronic Bus Rider Agreement

1st Day of School - Buses will run on our normal schedule. SES/SIS will be dropped off between 7:20 and 7:25 a.m.. SMS/SHS will be dropped off between 8:00 and 8:05 a.m.

Below is a list of Common Miscues that happen around the beginning of school. Our goal is for none of them to happen, but they often do.

  1. Miss the bus - We are not able to circle back. We run on a schedule that we have to meet.

  2. Child falls asleep and misses their stop - We will drop them off on the 2nd route. Don’t panic. Your babies are safe on the bus. We will get them home.

  3. Driver misses stop - If you are out by the curb, this will not happen. During the first couple of weeks, drivers are learning new Raiders and New stops. We are super vigilant looking for our riders. If missed during drop off, please don’t panic. We will get them home safe.

  4. No one to receive their young Raider - We keep them on the bus and come back by on the 2nd route. We are not going to release a young SES Raider without a visual of a parent, guardian, or older sibling.

  5. Student gets on the wrong bus - We will get them home, but it will be after the normal route or they will be brought back to school at the end of the route.

Stops

Your pickup/ dropoff location may or may not be right in front of your house. It will be close to your house. Once we figure out who all is riding, stops may be consolidated to a central location between houses. For example, rider at first house and second house, the stop will be in the middle. First and third house, stop will be at the middle house. Drivers will start consolidating stops to improve efficiency and timing. Light poles are good central locations for bus stops. All raiders get home faster!

Monitors

All buses will have a PM monitor on the bus. They are employees of the district. They are charged with ensuring a safe ride home. They will monitor safe acceptable seating and reasonable volume level. Monitors will create assigned seating to allow for efficient routes. They have the right and authority to change seating for discipline or to improve efficiency of the route. Noncompliance will result in disciplinary action according to the Bus Rider Handbook. Disrespect towards our monitors or drivers will not be tolerated.

Video Monitoring

All of our buses are equipped with video monitoring devices. All actions and conversations are recorded. While on the bus, you are still on school property. Therefore all Sunnyvale ISD guidelines must be adhered to. The video is for the safety and protection of all students, monitors, and drivers.

Let’s make it an awesome Raider year!
