MAY 2026 NEWSLETTER
Happy May, Peakview Academy Families!
It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final month of the school year. This time of year brings both excitement and reflection as we celebrate how much our students have grown academically, socially, and emotionally. I am incredibly proud of our learners, staff, and families for the strong community we’ve built together.
May is filled with important events and celebrations. From Teacher Appreciation Week to field days and end-of-year celebrations, there are many opportunities to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our students, including special milestones for our 5th and 8th graders.
As we wrap up the year, please take note of important reminders in this newsletter, including completing the Annual Family Check-In and returning library books and materials. These small steps help us prepare for a strong start next year.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Let’s make these final weeks meaningful and memorable for our students.

Project Heart
This year the Project Heart Club for Kinder - 2nd grade learned about philanthropy and giving our time, talent, and treasure to make our community a better place. This was done by helping teachers organize books, making signs about kindness to put around the school, and making thank you's for teachers. Our big project was learning about the community space that is at PVA and finding out how we can support it. After visiting a community space at another school, the group decided we needed to make our space welcoming by adding pictures and decorations. Our amazing second graders - Eleanor S., Lyanna W., Olivia H., and Isabel C. - wrote and received grants for us to pay for the bus to visit the other school and for the materials we would use to decorate the community space. So very proud of these students and what they do to make our community stronger. A big shout out to Otter Cares for providing curriculum and awarding us grants!
Help Us Celebrate Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week!

Thompson School District, in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Family Engagement Collective (RMFEC), is offering a two-part workshop series called “Unlock the Joy of Reading” for families with elementary-aged children. The workshops are divided into two grade-level strands (K–2 and 3–5) and are designed to give families simple, practical ways to support reading at home, whether a child is just starting, building fluency, or gaining confidence. The workshops will be held on May 7 and May 14 from 5:00–7:30 p.m. at Winona Elementary School. Each strand will include easy-to-use tips and fun activities to make reading an enjoyable part of everyday life. Dinner will be provided, but childcare is not available at this time. Action Required: 2026-2027 Annual Family Check-In!
It’s that time of year again! We are officially opening the Annual Family Check-In for the
upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
Why is this so important?
We want to ensure every student is safe, supported, and reachable. Updating your information in
Infinite Campus is the only way to guarantee we have the most accurate data for:
Emergency Contacts: Who do we call if your child needs you?
Health Information: Keeping our nursing staff up to date on allergies or medications.
Communication: Ensuring you receive school closures, event invites, and grade reports.
"But my information hasn't changed!"
We still need you to complete the check-in! Even if your address and phone number are
exactly the same as last year, the system requires a fresh "digital signature" to confirm your data
is current for the new school year. It only takes a few minutes, but it makes a world of difference
for our staff and your student.
How to Complete Your Check-In:
1. Log In: Visit your [Infinite Campus Parent Portal].
2. Navigate: Look for the "Annual Family Check-In"
3. Review & Submit: Double-check your details, make any necessary edits, and hit submit!
Thank you for helping us start the 2026-2027 year strong!

State Immunizations Annual Parent Letter
Dear families of students attending Colorado kindergarten through 12th grade schools for the 2026-27 school year:
The letter below includes important information and other resources about Colorado’s immunization requirements to attend school. There’s nothing more important than making sure your child stays healthy and learning all year long. Routine vaccination can prevent the spread of diseases like measles, mumps, varicella (chickenpox), whooping cough, and others, so kids can just be kids. The vast majority of Colorado families choose to protect their children through vaccination. Please review this letter.

Instructional Fees
The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.

Peakview Academy Student & Family Handbook 2025-2026
Keeping Our Hands and Bodies to Ourselves
At Peakview Academy at Conrad Ball, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. To help everyone feel comfortable and secure, we want to remind families of our physical interaction expectations, which align with the district’s Code of Conduct.
Students are expected to keep their hands and bodies to themselves at all times—this includes classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, buses, and all school-related activities. Appropriate physical interactions include handshakes, high-fives, and participation in supervised activities like PE, sports, and recess games, always with mutual consent.
Inappropriate interactions, such as roughhousing, hugging, kissing, hand-holding, or touching another person’s belongings or body, will result in reminders and redirection. Repeated or serious violations may lead to additional consequences.
These expectations are highlighted in our PVA Learner & Family Handbook.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that Peakview Academy remains a safe and welcoming space for all learners!
