Policy Reminders
Personal Devices
Based on new State Statute (A.R.S. § 15-120.05) Creighton School District has updated its policy about
when and how students can use personal devices like cell phones, smartwatches, and tablets during the school day. School day includes all time students are on campus: class time, lunch, recess, and passing periods.
Device Restrictions
- During school hours: Personal devices must be turned off or on silent and kept out of sight (like in a backpack). They may not be on a students’ person (like in a pocket).
- Social media, texting, calls, or games are not allowed during the school day.
- Before and after school: Devices can be used in common areas like the cafeteria.
Personal Devices Permitted Use
- For educational purposes when allowed by a teacher or outlined in a student’s IEP/504 plan.
- In an emergency situation with permission from a teacher of staff member.
- To manage a medical condition, if approved in advance.
- Students can also use devices before and after school, including on the bus, as long as it follows the student code of conduct.
Contacting Parents
- Students may contact their parent/legal guardian during the school day with express permission from a teacher or staff member. Parents/legal guardians who seek to communicate with their student on the student's wireless communication device during the school day may contact the school's front office.
What Happens When Students Don't Follow the Rules
- Students who don’t follow the rules may face disciplinary action.
- Devices may be taken away and only returned to a parent or guardian.
- The school is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen devices.
You can read the full district policy here. We appreciate your support in keeping our classrooms focused and safe!
Reminder - Leave Toys, Electronics, and sports equipment at home
A reminder that students should leave all toys, electronic games and sports equipment at home. Please help our teachers and staff out and keep the focus on learning by reminding your child to leave these items at home and checking backpacks before students leave for school. We provide sports/recess equipment for all students to share.
Focus on Attendance

Field Trip Chaperone Information
At IMA, the safety and supervision of our students are top priorities. For this reason, all field trip and event chaperones or volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application and participate in a training session facilitated by our Community Education Outreach Specialist, Claudia Denogean. This process helps ensure that all volunteers understand our expectations, safety procedures, and the important role they play in supporting our students.
Please note that, due to limited space and availability on field trips, only individuals who have completed the full approval process and have been selected as chaperones may attend. We appreciate your interest and enthusiasm, and we thank you for your ongoing partnership and engagement in your child’s education. Your support helps us create meaningful and safe learning experiences for all students.
Campus Safety
Safety Reminders for All Campus Visitors
To help keep all students and staff safe, we kindly remind all campus visitors—including parents—to follow the directions of school staff, including our amazing crossing guards and parking lot duty staff, at all times.
In the City of Phoenix, it is illegal for a vehicle to block a crosswalk. Vehicles are prohibited from stopping, standing, or parking on crosswalks, and within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
We also ask that everyone continue to show respect for our neighbors by parking only in designated school areas and marked parking spots and avoiding private property. Please refrain from using private driveways near the school to turn around or making U-turns in front of the school.
If you are using a handicap parking space, please be sure to display a valid placard.
We are fortunate to be part of such a supportive and caring community here at Iron Mountain Academy. Thank you for helping us model The Panther Way:
Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Kind.
