As we head into May, it’s hard to believe we have just 15 days of school left. These final days can feel like they drag on, yet somehow pass very quickly—but they are some of the most important days of the entire year.

To earn credit and be promoted to the next grade level, students must meet two key expectations:

  • Attendance matters – students cannot exceed 7 unexcused absences
  • Academic progress – students must be passing their classes

Now is the time to check in. Please take a few minutes to log into PowerSchool and review your student’s grades. If your child needs additional support, we have just a few weeks of after-school tutoring remaining. This is a great opportunity to get caught up and finish strong. These last days go quickly—please don’t let them sneak by thinking there is still plenty of time.

This Thursday, our 8th grade students will participate in Reality Town, an engaging, real-world simulation where students experience managing jobs, budgets, and responsibilities. If you are available to help support this event, we would love to have you—please see the sign-up information below.

We are also excited to share that we have officially completed ISAT testing, aside from a few make-up sessions for students who were absent. I am incredibly proud of the effort our students put into these assessments. Their hard work truly reflects their growth and capabilities. While we are still awaiting final scores, those results will be shared with families when report cards are sent home.

Let’s continue to work together to ensure every student finishes the year strong.

Reality Town

We are excited to share that our 8th grade students will be participating in Reality Town this year—a hands-on simulation designed to help students experience the financial responsibilities of adulthood. During this event, students will take on the role of a 30-year-old adult with a career, salary, and family situation, and will work through budgeting for real-life expenses such as housing, transportation, groceries, and more.

To make this experience possible, we are seeking volunteers to help run business booths throughout the event. Reality Town will take place on May 7, 2026, at West Minico Middle School. Volunteers will receive training the morning of the event, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.

If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please scan the QR code included or contact Khali Vandever at kvandever@minidokaschools.org.

We appreciate your support in helping provide meaningful, real-world learning opportunities for our students!

Every day matters—especially in these final weeks of school. Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success. When students are in school, they are learning, building relationships, and staying on track with their classes.

Missing just a few days can quickly add up, making it harder for students to keep up and earn the credit they need to move on to the next grade level. As we approach the end of the year, it is more important than ever that students are present, on time, and engaged each day.

Let’s work together to finish strong—because showing up today truly leads to success tomorrow.

Last Chance to Purchase a Yearbook

Our 2025–2026 yearbook has been sent to print, and we have purchased a limited number of additional copies for families. We currently have 35 yearbooks available, which will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

If you would like to ensure your student receives a yearbook during the last week of school, we encourage you to purchase as soon as possible.

Yearbooks are $28 and can be purchased online through PaySchools or in the school office.

Don’t miss the opportunity to capture and remember this school year!

Supplemental Levy - May 19, 2026

We are Minidoka

Our district’s mission is simple: provide every student with the resources, safety, and opportunities they need to succeed. To accomplish this, our schools rely on a combination of state funding and local support. The supplemental levy is an important part of maintaining strong academic programs, safe schools, and reliable services for students.
