VOLUNTEER HOURS - NEW PROCEDURE!
Is your son/daughter needing to document volunteer/work hours for Florida Bright Futures? Please review new procedures:
New Process for Documenting Volunteer/Work Hours (shared with students via Canvas on 10/9/25)
We would like to inform you about the new process for documenting volunteer and work hours for
students at CCPS. While these hours are not mandatory for graduation, they are required for
students who wish to qualify for The Bright Futures scholarship.
Volunteer Hours:
1. Student Action: Students should log into their CCPS Portal and click on the "Service Hours"
section.
2. Checking for Approved Organizations: Under the "Organizations" tab, students must check if their
volunteering organization is already approved.
* If approved, students can proceed to create a proposal.
* If not listed, students can add a new organization by providing necessary information and
submitting for approval.
3. Parent Approval: Once a proposal is created, parents need to log into their CCPS portal to
approve ii.
4. Counselor Approval: After parent approval, the counselor will review the proposal for final
approval.
5. Logging Hours: After all approvals, students can upload their log sheet under the "Logs" tab.
Work Hours:
⢠Students should log into the CCPS Portal, click on the "Logs" tab, and upload their paystub to
document work hours.
Counselor Review and Transfer: Counselors will review and approve both volunteer and work hour
logs. Once approved, these hours will be transferred to the system overnight.
Parents of Senior Students!
The college application season has officially begun! Encourage your senior to meet with their school counselor for all college application needs.
Many universities have rapidly approaching application deadlines. Seniors are being reminded to provide teachers and counselors a two-week courtesy notice for letter of recommendation requests.
This is the ideal time for seniors to be taking the SAT, ACT, or CLT to improve admissions opportunities and scholarship options.

Attention Senior Parents!
Senior Parents! UPDATE ON FAFSA ā 2027-2028 application is NOW OPEN!
The Education Department announced Wednesday, September 24th, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms for the 2027-2028 school year are now open! This is the earliest the forms have ever been available.
This early release (one full week earlier than the October 1, 2026, release date) comes with a simpler application, including clearer language and easier collaboration between parent and student filers.
The new FAFSA can be completed in as little as 15 minutes and is available now at FAFSA.gov.
Improvements filers can expect:
*Easier language with less jargon
*Text invites for contributors
*Faster renewal (previously entered data will autopopulate making renewal each year less time consuming)
*Instant account verification (new accounts/first time filers will be verified faster)
*Immediate results (eligibility will be in real time vs. taking a few days)

This will help support our PBIS Initiatives.
This is a friendly reminder to all car riders...
Please refer to the map below for important traffic flow guidelines. When using the secondary drop-off and pick-up line, please remember that only one lane is available for vehicles. The primary drop-off and pick-up area located at the back of the campus has multiple lanes available.
In addition, please do not park or drive through any areas marked with an "X" on the map. These areas are restricted to help maintain a safe and efficient traffic pattern. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation as we work together to ensure the safety of all students.
