What's Happening In Waterville
It was a quick but busy week at Waterville Grade School! Thank you so much to the families that joined us for our 2nd grade Family Fun Night!
This Thursday, January 29th is Kansas Day! We spend the whole afternoon learning about Kansas and celebrating the day! Students are invited to wear old time pioneer clothes to school all day on Thursday. Please do not feel that you need to go out and buy special clothing!
The weather is unpredictable these days, and we wanted to remind you to please send your child to school in a coat. They can also wear a stocking hat and gloves in case we do decide to go outside for recess. In the event that inclement weather forces us to have a delay or no school, you will receive a call and text message from us. We will also post the information on Bloomz and our Valley Heights Schools Facebook page.
Please Note: On Wednesday, January 28th the 7-12th graders do not have school due to a FFA competition located at VHHS. Preschool through 6th grade will have a regular school day on Wednesday, January 28th.

Blue Rapids Elementary
It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids
It was a great week at Blue Rapids Elementary! On Monday, staff participated in a dynamic professional development day alongside Marysville, hosted by Valley Heights. The kitchen staff and employees at USD 498 did an excellent job showcasing the district’s many talents. A special thank-you to Rhonda Joseph and Aundrea Reinecke for their outstanding presentations—Rhonda presented on the mental health effects of technology on students, and Aundrea shared valuable information on the use of AI in education. We also held the preliminary rounds of the spelling bee. Results for the Marshall County Bee in Marysville have not yet been finalized due to ties that still need to be resolved. Finally, with the recent winter weather, a shout-out goes to Ryan Bishop for his hard work in keeping the building heated and classrooms warm.
