"Do A Job"
MAY 1, 2026
Wow, things sure are ramping up here at the high school! Seniors are busy taking care of final academic responsibilities, testing is completed, and details are being set for the end-of-year events. May 13th will be our Decision Day Breakfast, which includes the Class of 2026 walking through the other buildings and final prep for our senior tribute. The Senior Tribute takes place at 8:30 AM in the gym on May 15th. This is the seniors’ last day, and we will have many honors and scholarships awarded from the Barry County Community Foundation, our own DK Education Foundation, and many other individuals, businesses, and community supporters who will be giving away money to our seniors. It is quite a day, and parents are invited.
Seniors have a MANDATORY graduation practice on May 20th at 2 PM. Seniors will be able to pick up their cap and gown starting on May 8. We would like to have all of those distributed before seniors leave on May 15th. We want to invite the entire DK community to come and celebrate our Class of 2026 at their graduation on May 21st in the HS gymnasium. The DK Academy will graduate at 5 PM, and the DK High School will be honored at 7 PM. Plan ahead and arrive early, as traffic and parking can be a bit of a challenge.
This year’s spring play, ”Murder At The Orient Express,” will be performed on May 13th, 14th, and 16th. Shows each day are at 7 PM with a 1 PM matinee on the 16th. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the door. Come out and support this talented and hard-working group of kids. They are always entertaining and put on a good show.
We have had some amazing athletic performances already this spring. These are highlighted by Nick Muday’s new school record in the pole vault at 14’1”. Congratulations, Nick, and good luck to all of our teams as we move quickly toward League, District, and Regional play.
We have 2 students currently in Houston, TX, competing at the Robotics World Competition. Brayden Campbell and Robbie Bever are on one of the 600 teams competing in some of the 125 qualification rounds, trying to advance over the next two days. Our kids are doing amazing things. DOING A JOB!!.
HAPPY PRINCIPAL'S DAY!
Today we celebrate the incredible leadership, dedication, and heart our principals bring to our schools each and every day. A special thank you to Mr. Hogoboom, Dr. Munger, Mr. Tillman, and Ms. Lindstrom for supporting our students, empowering our staff, and creating a positive environment where everyone can succeed.
Your hard work does not go unnoticed—we are grateful for all that you do!
